Certificates of Competence for Powder Actuated Tool Operators

Pursuant to regulation 28 of the Health and Safety in Employment Regulations 1995, I, R. J. M. Hill, General Manager, Occupational Safety and Health Service of the Department of Labour, in exercise of those powers delegated to me by the Secretary of Labour, pursuant to section 41 of the State Sector Act 1988, hereby give notice that the following organisations are recognised as an organisation that may issue certificates of competence to Powder Actuated Tool Operators in accordance with the requirements of regulation 29 and the authorities of the Secretary in accordance with regulations 34, 36, 37, 38, 40, 41, 42 and 43:

Airport Authorities Amendment Act 1997

Price Control Study of Airfield Activities

The Minister of Commerce ("the Minister") has required the Commerce Commission ("the commission") to report to him by 14 December 1999 on whether price control should be introduced over prices for airfield activities, as defined by the Airport Authorities Amendment Act 1997, at Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch airports.

Further information on the requirement, and the matters to which it relates, may be requested by contacting the commission for a copy of the information paper dated 3 August 1998, A98/2.

The commission intends to commence the formal consultation phase of the inquiry on 2 August 1999. The commission invites interested persons to furnish their views on the above matter in writing to the commission by no later than 27 August 1999.
