Conservation Act 1987

Declaring Land to be Held for Conservation Purposes Together With a Declaration That the Area Become a Reserve, Classification of the Reserve, and Appointing The Selwyn District Council to Control and Manage

Pursuant to section 7 (1A) of the Conservation Act 1987, the Minister of Conservation declares that the land, described in the Schedule hereto, is held for conservation purposes, subject to the Conservation Act 1987, and pursuant to section 8 (1A) of the Act, further declares that the conservation area shall hereafter be set apart as a reserve, subject to the Reserves Act 1977, and classified as a local purpose (amenity site) reserve, and that, pursuant to section 28 (1) of the Reserves Act 1977, The Selwyn District Council is appointed to control and manage the reserve for local purposes (amenity site), subject to the provisions of the latter Act.

9634 square metres, being Reserve 5236. All New Zealand Gazette, 1970, page 154. S.O. 10912.

Declaring Land to be Held for Conservation Purposes Together With a Declaration That the Area Become a Government Purpose (Wildlife Management) Reserve

Pursuant to section 7 (1A) of the Conservation Act 1987, the Minister of Conservation declares that the land, described in the Schedule hereto, is held for conservation purposes, and further pursuant to section 8 (1A) of the Act, declares that the said land shall hereafter be set apart as a reserve, subject to the provisions of the Reserves Act 1977, and classifies the reserve as a Government purpose (wildlife management) reserve, subject to the provisions of the latter Act.

Canterbury Land District—Timaru District

2.9390 hectares, being Reserve 2711. Timaru Roll Plan 11.

Declaring Land to be Held for Conservation Purposes Together With a Declaration That the Area Become a Reserve, Classification of a Reserve and Vesting of a Reserve in The Hurunui District Council

Pursuant to section 7 (1A) of the Conservation Act 1987, the Minister of Conservation declares that the land, described in the Schedule hereto, is held for conservation purposes, subject to the Conservation Act 1987, and pursuant to section 8 (1A) of that Act, the Minister of Conservation further declares that the conservation area shall hereafter be set apart as a reserve, subject to the Reserves Act 1977, and classified as a local purpose (education camp) reserve, and further, pursuant to section 26 of the latter Act, the Minister vests the said reserve in The Hurunui District Council, in trust, for that purpose.

Declaring the Disposition of Land to be Exempt From Section 24 of the Conservation Act 1987

Pursuant to section 24B (4) (b) of the Conservation Act 1987, the Minister of Conservation hereby declares that section 24 of the Conservation Act, which deals with the reservation of marginal strips, shall not apply to the disposition of the land described in the Schedule hereto.

The land constitutes the Highbank Power Station, an area which is required in connection with electricity works.

49.5720 hectares, more or less, being Lot 1, D.P. 74175, situated in Block IV, Spaxton and Block I, Corwar Survey Districts.
