(ii) in respect of Malaysia, the substitution of Singapore as the intermediate point in place of Sydney, and an increase in available capacity from up to the equivalent of one B747 return service per week to up to the equivalent of two B747 return services per week; and

(iii) in respect of Thailand, an increase in available capacity from up to the equivalent of four B767 return services per week to up to the equivalent of six B767 return services per week.

Any person or organisation wishing to make representations relating to this proposal must forward those representations in writing to reach me at the Ministry of Transport, P.O. Box 3175, Wellington, on or before 11 September 1997.

Notice of Variation and Renewal of the International Air Service Licence Granted to Air New Zealand Limited

Pursuant to sections 87 and 87I, respectively, of the Civil Aviation Act 1990, delegations from the Minister of Transport dated 27 August 1996, and subdelegations from the Secretary for Transport dated 28 August 1997, I give notice that I have varied, in the manner stated below, and have renewed, for a period of five years with effect from 1 July 1997, the international air service licence of Air New Zealand Limited.

The terms and conditions of the international air service licence, now termed a “Scheduled International Air Service Licence” have been varied as follows:

  • the separate condition relating to aircraft type has been deleted, and aircraft type is now included, where appropriate, only in the new capacity conditions;
  • in respect of the United States, to incorporate the full route rights provided for in the 18 June 1997 Air Transport Agreement between the Government of New Zealand and the Government of the United States of America;
  • cargo tariff filings are no longer required unless specifically requested;
  • in respect of carriage between New Zealand and Australia, and New Zealand and the United States, passenger tariff filings are no longer required except for information purposes when specifically requested;
  • in respect of non-stop terminating services between New Zealand and Australia, and New Zealand and the United States, nature of service filings are required for information purposes only;
  • the licence includes the statutory requirement to file such statistical and financial information as the Secretary for Transport may require; and
  • other minor amendments have been made to the wording of the conditions relating to nature of service filings, insurance, tariffs, inter-governmental arrangements and operational, safety and security standards.

Michael Evan Leigh Gamby

to be members of the Valuers Registration Board, to hold office for a term of 3 years, commencing on the 1st day of May 1997.

The said Michael Evan Leigh Gamby has been appointed on the recommendation of the New Zealand Institute of Valuers, pursuant to section 3 (2) (b) of the said Act.
