Maritime Transport Act 1994

Notification of Maritime Rules

Pursuant to section 448 of the Maritime Transport Act 1994, notification is hereby given of the making of the maritime rules Part 21: Safe Ship Management Systems.

Rules 21.2 to 21.12 of Part 21 shall come into force on the 21st day of August 1997 and rule 21.13 of Part 21 shall come into force on the 1st day of February 1998.

Part 21 is available for inspection at the Head Office of the Maritime Safety Authority of New Zealand, Level Eight, AMP House, 109 Featherston Street, Wellington, and for purchase from Publishing Solutions Limited, P.O. Box 983, Wellington 6015.

The Authorised Life Insurance Companies Notice (No. 4) 1997

Pursuant to the Securities Act 1978, the Securities Commission gives the following notice:

Notice

1. Title and commencement, and expiry—(1) This notice may be cited as the Authorised Life Insurance Companies Notice (No. 4) 1997.

(2) This notice shall come into force on 1 August 1997.

(3) This notice shall expire on the close of 31 March 1998.

2. Interpretation—(1) In this notice “the Act” means the Securities Act 1978.

(2) Any term or expression which is not defined in this notice, but which is defined in the Act, shall have the meaning given to it by the Act.

3. Authorised life insurance companies—Each life insurance company named in the Schedule to this notice is hereby declared to be an authorised life insurance company for the purposes of the Act in respect of all life insurance policies issued by that company other than any class of life insurance policy offered to the public for subscription by the company (acting in reliance on section 2 (a) of the Securities Amendment Act 1996) in accordance with the Securities Act 1978 as amended by the Securities Amendment Act 1996.

Conservation

Conservation Act 1987

Declaring the Disposition of Land to be Exempt From Section 24 of the Conservation Act 1987

Pursuant to section 24B (4) (b) of the Conservation Act 1987, the Minister of Conservation hereby declares that section 24 of the Conservation Act, which deals with the reservation of marginal strips, shall not apply to the disposition of the land in the Schedule hereto.

The land constitutes the Arnold Power Station, an area which is required in connection with electricity works.

Westland Land District—Grey District

21.5403 hectares, more or less, being Lots 1 and 2, D.P. 3309, situated in Block I Brunner, Block XV Arnold and Blocks III and IV, Hohonu Survey Districts.
