(j) Up to three members co-opted by The Open Polytechnic of New Zealand Council, if and when it thinks fit, to meet identified gaps in representation of expertise on the council.

Note:

The council has resolved that one of the three members so co-opted by the council shall be representative of student interests and shall always be a person who is, or has been a student of The Open Polytechnic of New Zealand within the 5 years immediately preceding the date of appointment.

4. Subject to section 173 of the Education Act 1989, the maximum term of office of members appointed to the council, other than the chief executive officer, is three consecutive 4 year terms.

5. The Open Polytechnic of New Zealand 1990 appearing in the New Zealand Gazette, 25 October 1990, No. 186, page 3998, is hereby revoked.
