Appointments, Promotions, Extensions, Transfers, Resignations and Retirements of Officers of the New Zealand Army

Pursuant to section 32 of the Defence Act 1990, His Excellency the Governor-General has approved the following appointments, promotions, extensions, transfers, resignations and retirements of officers of the New Zealand Army.

REGULAR FORCE

Appointments To Commission

Warrant Officer Class One, Ross Charles Fearon, Royal NZ Army Logistic Regiment, is appointed to commission in the rank of Captain and Quartermaster with seniority and effect from 9 May 1997.

Warrant Officer Class One, Gregory Shane Makutu, Royal NZ Army Logistic Regiment, is appointed to commission in the rank of Captain and Quartermaster with seniority and effect from 9 May 1997.

Warrant Officer Class One, Keith James Pittams, Royal NZ Army Logistic Regiment, is appointed to commission in the rank of Captain and Quartermaster with seniority and effect from 9 May 1997.

Warrant Officer Class One, Sandra Yvonne Quigley, Royal NZ Military Police, is appointed to commission in the rank of Captain and Quartermaster with seniority and effect from 23 May 1997.

Warrant Officer Class One, Christopher William Waterhouse, Royal NZ Army Logistic Regiment, is appointed to commission in the rank of Captain and Quartermaster with seniority and effect from 9 December 1996.

Warrant Officer Class One, Michael David Owen, The Corps of Royal NZ Engineers, is appointed to commission in the rank of Lieutenant and Quartermaster with seniority from 5 May 1993, and with effect from 5 May 1997.

Staff Sergeant Bevin Ian Godfrey, Royal NZ Army Logistic Regiment, is appointed to commission in the rank of Lieutenant with seniority and effect from 27 June 1997.

Staff Sergeant Robert John Moroney, Royal NZ Army Logistic Regiment, is appointed to commission in the rank of Lieutenant with seniority and effect from 9 May 1997.

Graduates-Officer Cadet School

The following Officer Cadets graduated from the Officer Cadet School and are appointed to commissions in the rank of 2nd Lieutenant in the Corps shown, with seniority and effect from 18 June 1997.

Royal Regiment of NZ Artillery

Major J. Wasson, is re-engaged in the Regular Force until 5 December 1997.

Acting Captain A. R. N. Shaw, to be Captain with seniority from 20 December 1995 and with effect from 6 December 1996.

Royal NZ Armoured Corps

Major R. L. C. Odom, to be acting Lieutenant Colonel with effect from 19 May 1997.

Captain D. J. Strong, B.A., to be Major with seniority and effect from 28 April 1997.

Captain and Quartermaster P. E. Napier, is re-engaged until 22 April 2001.

2nd Lieutenant S. D. Stephens, to be Lieutenant with seniority and effect from 13 April 1997.

The Corps of Royal NZ Engineers

Major C. J. Faulls, N.Z.C.E.(CIV), is transferred to the Army Reserve General List of Officers with effect from 13 May 1997.

Captain M. J. Donoghue, to be acting Major with effect from 20 May 1997.

Captain S. W. Davies, B.A., to be acting Major with effect from 24 May 1997.

Acting Captain T. G. Hart, to be Captain with seniority from 20 December 1996 and with effect from 14 April 1997.

Royal NZ Corps of Signals

Major T. M. Brady, B.Sc., with reference to the notice published in the New Zealand Gazette, 27 March 1997, No. 29, page 702, substitute to Acting Major.

Captain and Quartermaster I. D. Bateman, to be acting Major with effect from 24 May 1997.

Captain C. W. Dick, to be acting Major with effect from 24 April 1997.

Captain N. A. Lockwood, to be Captain and Quartermaster with seniority from 22 March 1995 and with effect from 2 December 1996.

Royal NZ Infantry Regiment

Captain D. T. Tunuia, is transferred to the Army Reserve General List of Officers with effect from 6 March 1997.

Captain N. Englebeck, is transferred from the Territorial Force in his present rank with seniority from 13 July 1995 and with effect from 24 February 1997.

Captain J. C. Howe, is transferred from the Territorial Force on a fixed engagement for 3 years with effect from 26 May 1997.
