Order for Confiscation of Motor Vehicle

Pursuant to Section 84 of the Criminal Justice Act 1985

On the 23rd day of December 1996, at the District Court at Tauranga, Hinepare Tephere of 141 Poike Road, Tauranga, was convicted and sentenced to 3 months periodic detention and disqualified from holding or obtaining a motor driver’s licence for 6 months from 10 July 1997, following his conviction on 23 December 1996 for an offence of driving whilst disqualified.

And in addition to the above-mentioned penalty, Judge D. C. McKegg has ordered that a Toyota Corolla motor vehicle, registration No. JO 5637 owned by Manu Pomare Tephere, be forfeited to Her Majesty the Queen, pursuant to section 84 (4) of the Criminal Justice Act 1985.

The vehicle is to be surrendered to the Registrar, District Court, Tauranga or a bailiff of the District Court, Tauranga, by 4.00 p.m. on the 15th day of January 1997.

Dissolution of Board of Trustees and Appointment of Commissioner at Waikokowai School (No. 2056)

Pursuant to section 106 (1) (aa) of the Education Act 1989, for the reason that so many casual vacancies have arisen that there is no longer any member of the board who is eligible to preside at meetings of the board, and acting pursuant to a delegation, I hereby dissolve the Waikokowai School Board of Trustees and appoint

Miss P. J. Halls as commissioner

to act in its place.

Amendment to Constitution of Council of The University of Auckland

Pursuant to section 170 of the Education Act 1989, the Minister of Education hereby gives the following notice.

Notice

1. This notice may be cited as the Constitution of The University of Auckland Council Amendment Notice 1997, which shall be read together with and deemed part of The University of Auckland Notice 1990 (“the principal notice”).*

2. This notice shall come into force on the day after the date of its publication in the New Zealand Gazette.

3. The principal notice is hereby amended by omitting subparagraph (i) of clause 3 (h), and substituting the following subparagraph:

   “(i) Such one of the persons holding office for the time being as Deputy Vice-Chancellor as the Council appoints after consultation with the Vice-Chancellor.”
