Pursuant to section 52 of the Civil Defence Act 1983, I, Alasdair David Thompson, hereby declare a state of local civil defence emergency to be in force in the Thames Valley Combined District, or in that part specified below:

Thames-Coromandel District, Waihi and Paeroa Ward of the Hauraki District, Te Aroha Ward of the Matamata-Piako District.

The state of local civil defence emergency shall come into force on the time and date of the making of this declaration.

Declared by: A. D. Thompson.

Designation: Mayor of Administering Authority.

Time and Date of Declaration: 1711 hours, 30 December 1996.

Pursuant to section 56 of the Civil Defence Act 1983, I, Basil James Morrison, hereby terminate the state of local civil defence emergency declared in respect of the Thames Valley Combined District, or in that part specified below:

Te Aroha Ward of the Matamata-Piako District, Paeroa and Waihi Wards of the Hauraki District on 30 December 1996.

The termination of the state of local civil defence emergency shall take effect from the time and date of the making of this declaration.
