Meat Act 1981

Certain Areas No Longer Designated Rural Meat Areas (Notice No. 1050)

Pursuant to section 2 (3) of the Meat Act 1981, I hereby declare all rural meat areas detailed on the following Schedule (gazetted in the notice entitled “Meat Industry Authority (Notice No. 35, M.I.A. 3/8/2) Declaring Rural Meat Areas” in the New Zealand Gazette of Thursday, 8 October 1981, No. 117, at page 2799) to be no longer designated as rural meat areas, as the rural slaughterhouse licences of the rural slaughterhouses pertaining to those areas are now cancelled or surrendered.

Schedule

Rural Meat Areas

Akaroa County Council—County of Akaroa as from time to time constituted.

Cromwell Borough Council—District of borough, as from time to time constituted.

Franklin County Council—All that area within the County of Franklin within a radius of 32 kilometres of the Rural Slaughterhouse (Licence No. A. 152) situated at Towers Road, Waiuku, but excluding the Boroughs of Pukekohe and Tuakau.

Golden Bay County Council—Whole of District of Golden Bay County, as from time to time constituted.

Hokianga County Council—Ridings of Omamari and Rawene, and all that area contained within the boundary of the Omamari Community in the County of Hokianga.

Marlborough Borough Council—That part of Marlborough County to the west of Havelock County Town and including the whole of Kenepuru, Pelorus and Outer Sounds and all the County including and generally to the north of Rai Valley Township, and that serviced by the French Pass Road, and the whole of D’Urville Island and other occupied islands.

Waikato Borough Council—District of borough, as from time to time constituted.

Pursuant to section 2 (3) of the Meat Act 1981, I hereby declare the rural meat area gazetted in the notice entitled “Meat Industry Authority (Notice No. 35, M.I.A. 3/8/2), Declaring Rural Meat Areas” in the New Zealand Gazette of Thursday, 8 October 1981, No. 117, at page 2799 as the “Cheviot County Council—County of Cheviot as from time to time constituted” to be no longer designated a rural meat area.

Cancellation of Rural Slaughterhouse Licence No. O110 (Notice No. 1048)

Pursuant to section 40 of the Meat Act 1981, I hereby declare rural slaughterhouse licence No. O110 of the premises commonly referred to as the Cromwell rural slaughterhouse to be cancelled. The premises have been upgraded to abattoir status and the rural meat area described as “Cromwell Borough Council—District of borough from time to time constituted” formerly supplied by the premises is now adequately supplied with inspected meat.

Cancellation of Rural Slaughterhouse Licence No. WD4 (Notice No. 1047)

Pursuant to section 40 of the Meat Act 1981, I hereby declare rural slaughterhouse licence No. WD4 of the premises commonly referred to as the Westland rural slaughterhouse to be cancelled. The premises have not been used for many years and the rural meat area described as “Westland County Council—All that part of the Westland County south of the Omoeroa River” is adequately supplied with inspected meat.
