Declaring State Highway to be Limited Access Road: State Highway No. 6, Nelson to Maitai Bridge

It is notified that Transit New Zealand, by resolution dated 3 March 1997, and pursuant to section 88 (1) of the Transit New Zealand Act 1989, hereby declares that part of State Highway No. 6, commencing at the south-west boundary of part Section 16, D.P. 3360, C.T. 3D/1549 (at RP 99/0.08) and proceeding in a southerly direction, for a distance of approximately 6.62 kilometres, to the eastern abutment of the Maitai Bridge, Nelson City (at RP 99/15.71) as more particularly shown in Plan LAR 10/6/8 and accompanying Schedule held in the office of the Regional State Highway Manager, Transit New Zealand, Wellington and there available for public inspection, to be a limited access road.

Bylaw Fixing the Maximum Speed of Vehicles on Part of State Highway No. 67 at Birchfield in Buller District at 80 km/h

Pursuant to section 61 (3) of the Transit New Zealand Act 1989, Transit New Zealand hereby makes the following bylaw:

B y l a w

  1. Title and commencement—This bylaw may be cited as the Transit New Zealand Bylaw 1997/11.

  2. This bylaw shall come into force immediately.

  3. Interpretation—In this bylaw—

“Motor vehicle” has the meaning assigned to it in section 2 (1) of the Transport Act 1962.

  1. No person shall drive a motor vehicle at a speed exceeding 80 kilometres an hour on that section of State Highway No. 67 at Birchfield in Buller District from a point (at RP 14/13.26) 380 metres measured in a generally northerly direction from Big Ditch Bridge to a point (at RP 14/14.26) 1.01 kilometres measured in a generally southerly direction from Jones Creek Bridge, a distance of approximately 1 kilometre.

This bylaw is made by delegated authority from the Transit New Zealand Authority.

Reserves Act 1977

Amendment to Notice

Pursuant to section 22 (5) of the Reserves Act 1977, and to a delegation from the Director-General of Conservation, the Regional Conservator of the Wellington Conservancy of the Department of Conservation, hereby amends the notice Prohibition of Access Other Than by a Permit to Part Somes Island Reserve published in the New Zealand Gazette, 30 January 1997, No. 8, page 192, by omitting from that notice the words “8.30 a.m. to 1 p.m.” and substituting the words “8.30 a.m. to 5 p.m.”.
