Notice of Decision of Disciplinary Committee

At a hearing held on 13 March 1997, the Disciplinary Committee of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of New Zealand heard charges against Craig John McQuillan of Palmerston North.

Craig John McQuillan did not appear before the disciplinary committee and was considered to have pleaded not guilty to the charges in that the member had been convicted of a crime involving dishonesty as defined by section 2 of the Crimes Act 1961, and had been guilty of grave impropriety and/or infamous conduct in a professional respect.

After receiving evidence and hearing submissions on behalf of the investigation committee, and correspondence from the member, the disciplinary committee found the charges proved.

Acting under section 24 (3) (a) of the New Zealand Society of Accountants Act 1958, the disciplinary committee ordered that the name of Craig John McQuillan be removed from the Register of Members of the institute and fixed the date of 13 March 2007, after which the member could apply for registration under the Act.

Craig John McQuillan was also ordered to pay to the society the sum of $1,612.04 (including G.S.T.) in respect of the costs and expenses relating to the inquiry by the disciplinary committee and the investigation by the investigation committee.

The disciplinary committee ordered that its decision be published in the Chartered Accountant’s Journal of New Zealand, the New Zealand Gazette and The Manawatu Standard newspaper with mention of the member’s name and locality.

Glenn Phillip Curach did not appear before the disciplinary committee and was considered to have pleaded not guilty to the charges in that the member had been convicted of a crime involving dishonesty as defined by section 2 of the Crimes Act 1961, and had been guilty of grave impropriety and/or infamous conduct in a professional respect.

After receiving evidence and hearing submissions on behalf of the investigation committee, the disciplinary committee found the charges proved.

Broadcasting Act 1989

Notice to the Broadcasting Commission in Respect of an Increase in Administrative Expenses

To the Broadcasting Commission:

Pursuant to section 49 (3) of the Broadcasting Act 1989, I, Maurice Donald Williamson, Minister of Communications, hereby amend my notice of 28 June 1996, and give you notice that the amount you may spend on account of administrative expenses has increased to $1,674,000 (one million six hundred and seventy-four thousand dollars) [excluding G.S.T.]. This amount excludes those administrative expenses involved in collecting the Public Broadcasting Fees, in the financial year commencing on the 1st day of July 1996 and ending with the close of the 30th day of June 1997.
