(e) The date on which the game was taken;
No person shall have in possession on any one day game, more than:
Saturday 3 May 1997: The number of game birds specified as the daily bag limit for the Fish and Game Region in which the game is taken.
Sunday 4 May 1997: Twice the number of game birds specified for Saturday 3 May 1997.
Every subsequent day: The number of game birds specified as the daily bag limit for the Fish and Game Region in which the game is taken.
Waiver of Restrictions on Baiting, and Methods of Taking Game
Baiting for Waterfowl
Persons⁴ may hunt or kill game of the family Anatidae (waterfowl) during the open season for game in all Fish and Game Regions where food has been cast, thrown, placed or planted during the current open season for game or during the thirty (30) days immediately prior to the open season for game.
Magazine Shotguns
Persons⁵ may hunt or kill game birds, as specified, within the Fish and Game Regions named below, with any shotgun of a calibre 12 gauge or less having a magazine of any type not adjusted in accordance with regulations made under this Act, and capable of holding more than one shell.
A. This approval shall apply only in the following Fish and Game regions for the hunting of all game birds from and inclusive of 3 May 1997.
Fish and Game Regions of:
Nelson/Marlborough
West Coast
Central South Island
Otago
B. This approval shall apply in the North Canterbury Fish and Game Region from 31 May 1997 for the purpose of hunting only Canada Geese. To be in possession of any game bird other than Canada Geese while possessing, using or being in charge of a magazine shotgun not adjusted in accordance with regulations made under this Act, and capable of holding more than one shell, is to be in breach of the Act. The approval is subject to the conditions specified below.

North Canterbury
C. This approval shall apply only during that period of the open season for game following 30th July 1997 for the purpose of hunting Canada Geese. The approval is subject to the conditions specified below.
