Exemption From Specified Requirements of the Traffic Regulations 1976

Pursuant to regulation 90 (1) of the Traffic Regulations 1976, I, Victor Ian Everiss, Vehicle Compliance Officer, hereby exempt the motor vehicle specified in Schedule 1 of this notice from the requirements of the Traffic Regulations 1976 listed in Schedule 2, subject to the conditions specified in Schedule 3 of this notice.

Approval of Defensive Driving Organisations

Pursuant to section 39 (a) of the Transport Act 1962 and section 48 (2) (a) of the Transport (Vehicle and Driver Registration and Licensing) Act 1986, under powers delegated to me by the Director of Land Transport Safety in an instrument of delegation dated the 23rd day of December 1996, I, Alan Woodside, Group Manager, Safer People and Operators, hereby approve the following organisations for the purposes of section 68 (1) (b) of the Transport Act 1962 and regulations 11 (1) (b) (i) and 32 (2) (c) of the Transport (Drivers Licensing) Regulations 1987:

Legal Services Board (Criminal Legal Aid Remuneration) Instructions 1996, Amendment No. 1.

The amendment provides for assigned counsel to be remunerated for preparing points on appeal to an appropriate standard in order that the Court of Appeal can properly evaluate whether it is appropriate that legal aid should be made available to an appellant in the Court of Appeal.
