Approval of Hazardous Substances Courses

Pursuant to section 48 (2) (e) of the Transport (Vehicle and Driver Registration and Licensing) Act 1986; and under powers delegated to me by the Director of Land Transport Safety in an instrument of delegation dated the 23rd day of December 1996; I, James William Furneaux, Regional Compliance Officer, hereby approve the hazardous substance courses to be run by the following person for the purposes of section 70(1) (a) of the Transport Act 1962:

Transport (Vehicle Standards) Regulations 1990

Exemption From Specified Requirements of the Transport (Vehicle Standards) Regulations 1990

Pursuant to regulation 36 of the Transport (Vehicle Standards) Regulations 1990, I, Martyn Jacob de Liefde, Vehicle Compliance Officer, hereby exempt the motor vehicle specified in Schedule 1 of this notice from the requirements of the Transport (Vehicle Standards) Regulations 1990 listed in Schedule 2, subject to the conditions specified in Schedule 3.

i) The items specified in Schedule 2 must be in sound condition and good working order;

ii) (a) The vehicle manufacturer’s original equipment three-point lap and diagonal seat belts for the vehicle are fitted in the front outboard sitting positions;

(b) All other sitting positions are fitted with the seat belts required by regulation 29;

iii) All seat belts must be securely anchored to the vehicle and seat belt anchorages that are not the vehicle manufacturer’s original equipment must comply with Specification St;

iv) This exemption may be revoked at any time;

v) A copy of this notice must be carried in the vehicle at all times and be readily available for inspection.

Fire Service Act 1975

New Zealand Fire Service Fire Regions Notice 1997

Pursuant to section 24 of the Fire Service Act 1975, the New Zealand Fire Service Commission hereby gives the following notice.

Notice

  1. This notice may be cited as the New Zealand Fire Service Fire Regions Notice 1997.

  2. This notice shall come into force on the 12th day of December 1997, after its notification in the New Zealand Gazette.

  3. The New Zealand Fire Service Regions and Areas Notice 1995* is hereby revoked.

*In this notice “fire region” and “territorial authority” mean a fire region and a territorial authority as described in section 2 of the Fire Service Act 1975.

Constitution of Fire Regions

  1. The fire regions listed in Schedule 1 are hereby constituted and declared as New Zealand Fire Service Fire Regions.

  2. The territorial authorities within each fire region are listed in Schedule 2.

  3. The boundaries of the constituted fire regions are more particularly delineated on plan number 125 entitled New Zealand Fire Service Fire Regions and deposited at the headquarters of the New Zealand Fire Service at Wellington.
