Notice of Proposed Driver Licensing Rule
The Land Transport Safety Authority (LTSA), in accordance with section 10 (1) of the Land Transport Act 1993, gives notice that draft Rule 91001: Driver Licensing is available for public comment.
This draft rule proposes requirements for obtaining and renewing a driver licence and for driver licensing service providers.
A copy of draft Rule 91001 may be obtained by telephoning the LTSA Help Desk on Freephone 0800 690 000.
The draft rule is available for public viewing at the LTSA’s 7 regional offices and on the internet on the Government Online web site at http://www.govt.nz.
Submissions on draft Rule 91001 close on 21 January 1998.

Traffic Regulations 1976
Exemption From Specified Requirements of the Traffic Regulations 1976
Pursuant to regulation 90 (1) of the Traffic Regulations 1976, I, John Richard Wolf, Vehicle Compliance Officer, hereby exempt the motor vehicle specified in Schedule 1 of this notice from the requirements of the Traffic Regulations 1976 listed in Schedule 2, subject to the conditions specified in Schedule 3.

Conditions
(i) All seat belts must be in sound condition and good working order and must not be modified in any way;
(ii) Approved two-point lap seat belts are fitted in all front seating positions;
(iii) All seat belts must be securely anchored to the vehicle and seat belt anchorages that are not the vehicle manufacturer’s original equipment must comply with Specification S120395;
(iv) This exemption may be revoked at any time;
(v) A copy of this notice must be carried in the vehicle at all times and be readily available for inspection.
