Schedule 3

Conditions

(i) This exemption only applies to sideways-facing rear seats that were installed as original equipment by the vehicle manufacturer;

(ii) Any seat as specified in condition (i) above must be fitted with 2-point lap seat belts;

(iii) Any seat belts fitted must comply with one or more of the appropriate standards listed in item 18 of the Second Schedule to the Transport (Vehicle Standards) Regulations 1990;

(iv) Any seat belt fitted must be in sound condition and good working order in accordance with regulation 78C of the Traffic Regulations 1976 at all times;

(v) This exemption may be revoked at any time.

Exemption From Specified Requirements of the Traffic Regulations 1976

Pursuant to regulation 90(1) of the Traffic Regulations 1976, I, Martyn Jacob de Liefde, Vehicle Compliance Officer, hereby exempt the motor vehicle specified in Schedule 1 of this notice from the requirements of the Traffic Regulations 1976 listed in Schedule 2, subject to the conditions specified in Schedule 3.

The Traffic (Waikato District) Notice No. 2, 1997

Pursuant to sections 52 (1) (c) and 52 (3) of the Transport Act 1962 ("the Act"), and regulation 21 (2) of the Traffic Regulations 1976, and pursuant to an authority sub-delegated to me by the Land Transport Safety Authority of New Zealand dated 9 June 1997, I, John Paul Edgar, Manager, Safer Roads and Rail, give the following notice:

(1) This notice may be cited as the Traffic (Waikato District) Notice No. 2, 1997.

(2) Those localities and roads shown within markings identified in the legend of and appearing on the plans numbered:

(a) TT9718/4, entitled "Waikato District Council Speed Restrictions at Horsham Downs, Matangi, near Raglan, near Tamahere, Scotsman Valley, Tamahere, Te Kowhai"; and

(b) TT9718/5, entitled "Waikato District Council Speed Restrictions at Horotiu, Raglan, Rotowaro, Taupiri, Te Rapa Dairy Factory, Whatawhata";

hold by the head office of the Land Transport Safety Authority, are declared to be closely populated localities at all times, pursuant to section 52 (1) (c) of the Transport Act 1962, or 70 km/h speed limit areas pursuant to regulation 21 (2) of the Traffic Regulations 1976, as may be ascertained from the legend. The plans and legends are hereby incorporated into this notice.

(3) Those following parts of the maps referred to in The Traffic (Waikato District) Notice 1997* are revoked:

(a) The section referring to Te Kowhai on map TT9718/1, entitled "Waikato District Council Speed Restrictions at Horsham Downs, Matangi, near Raglan"
