District Courts Act 1947

Acting District Court Judge Appointed

Pursuant to section 10A of the District Courts Act 1947, His Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased to appoint

Michael Frederick Hobbs, retired District Court Judge to be an Acting District Court Judge, to exercise civil and criminal jurisdiction in New Zealand, and to exercise the criminal jurisdiction of the District Courts under Part IIA of the District Courts Act 1947, at such place or places and for such period or periods only as the Chief District Court Judge may fix, pursuant to the said section 10A of the District Courts Act 1947, for a term of 12 months on and from the 27th day of November 1997.

Land Transport Act 1993

Notice of Proposal to Complete National Land Transport Strategy

I give notice, under section 29B (1) (a) of the Land Transport Act 1993, of my proposal to complete a National Land Transport Strategy.

A draft National Land Transport Strategy has been prepared after extensive consultation with interested parties. I invite anyone interested to make a submission on the draft strategy.

Copies of the draft strategy are available from the Ministry of Transport, P.O. Box 3175, Wellington. Telephone: (04) 472 1253.

Please send all submissions on the draft strategy to the Ministry of Transport by the 19th day of December 1997.
