Land Transport Act 1993
Notification of Ordinary Rules
Pursuant to section 10 (2) of the Land Transport Act 1993, notification is hereby given of the making of the Land Transport Rules 32001, 32002, 32003, 32006, 32008 and 32010, which shall come into force on 1 January 1998.
They are entitled, respectively:
- Vehicle Standards (Door Retention Systems)
- Vehicle Standards (Interior Impact)
- Vehicle Standards (Steering Systems)
- Vehicle Standards (Frontal Impact)
- Vehicle Standards (External Projections)
- Vehicle Standards (Head Restraints)
These ordinary rules are available for inspection free of charge at the head office of the Land Transport Safety Authority of New Zealand, 7β27 Waterloo Quay, Wellington, and for purchase from bookshops that sell legislation or direct from GP Legislation Services, P.O. Box 12-418, Wellington.

Traffic Regulations 1976
The Traffic (Franklin District) Notice No. 2, 1997
Pursuant to regulation 21 (2) of the Traffic Regulations 1976, and pursuant to an authority sub-delegated to me by the Land Transport Safety Authority of New Zealand, dated 9 June 1997, I, John Paul Edgar, Manager, Safer Roads and Rail, give the following notice:
Notice
(1) This notice may be cited as the Traffic (Franklin District) Notice No. 2, 1997.
(2) The road specified in the Schedule is declared to be a 70 kilometres an hour speed limit area, pursuant to regulation 21 (2) of the Traffic Regulations 1976. This notice shall come into force on the 1st day of October 1997.

SITUATED within Franklin District at Port Waikato:
Port Waikato Waikaretu Coast Road: From a point 500 metres measured southerly, generally along Port Waikato Waikaretu Coast Road from Maunsell Road to a point 900 metres measured southerly, generally along Port Waikato Waikaretu Coast Road from Maunsell Road.

Transport (Vehicle and Driver Registration and Licensing) Act 1986
Approval of Course in Map Reading
Pursuant to section 48 (2) (f) of the Transport (Vehicle and Driver Registration and Licensing) Act 1986, and pursuant to a delegation given by the Director of Land Transport Safety in an instrument of delegation dated the 23rd day of December 1996, I, Kevin Nickson, Regional Compliance Officer, Safer People and Operators, hereby approve courses in map reading to be conducted by the following organisation for the purposes of regulation 11 (1) (c) of the Transport (Drivers Licensing) Regulations 1987:
STV Driver Instruction, Rotorua.

Approval of Hazardous Substances Courses
Pursuant to section 48 (2) (e) of the Transport (Vehicle and Driver Registration and Licensing) Act 1986, and pursuant to a delegation given to me by the Director of Land Transport Safety Authority in an instrument of delegation, dated the 23rd day of December 1996, I, Peter Williamson Stevenson, Regional Compliance Officer (Otago and Southland), hereby approve those courses in hazardous substances to be conducted by the following organisation for the purposes of section 23a (Hazardous Substances Endorsement) of the Transport (Driver Licensing) Regulations 1987:

Exemption From Specified Requirements of the Transport (Vehicle Standards) Regulations 1990
Pursuant to regulation 36 of the Transport (Vehicle Standards) Regulations 1990, I, Barry Edward Crocker, Vehicle Compliance Officer, hereby exempt the motor vehicle specified in Schedule 1 of this notice from the requirements of the Transport (Vehicle Standards) Regulations 1990 listed in Schedule 2, subject to the conditions specified in Schedule 3.
