This notice prescribes that, pursuant to regulation 13 of the Radiocommunications (Radio) Regulations 1993, a general licence is granted in respect of the installation, operation, and use of radio apparatus on frequencies specified in this notice. The licence only applies to apparatus which complies to section 3 of technical specifications AS/NZS 4330:1995, that is installed, operated and used for the transmission of radio distress alerts. This notice comes into effect on the 1st day of September 1997.
