the Minister of Conservation, hereby gives notice of the intention to classify the reserves, described in the following Schedule, as reserves for the purposes specified at the end of the respective descriptions of the said reserves.

Schedule

Canterbury Land District—Mackenzie District

  1. Tekapo Scientific Reserve. 1058.6576 hectares, being part Reserve 3864. Part New Zealand Gazette, 1913, page 454. S.O. Plan 4943.

    This land adjoins the Tekapo River immediately to the south of Lake Tekapo Village and is intended to be classified as a scientific reserve.

  2. Pukaki Scientific Reserve. 30.1850 hectares, being Rural Section 41843. Part C.L. 529/229 and part New Zealand Gazette, 1971, page 800 (G.N. 831299). S.O. 16434.

    This land fronts State Highway No. 80, approximately 20 kilometres north of Twizel and is intended to be classified as a scientific reserve.

Wellington Land District—Chatham Islands District

  1. Tuku Nature Reserve (Chatham Islands). 1238.5 hectares, being Lot 1, D.P. 60624. All C.T. 31D/553.

    This area is intended to be classified as a nature reserve.

Setting Apart Maori Freehold Land as a Maori Reservation

Pursuant to section 338 (1) of Te Ture Whenua Maori Act 1993, on the recommendation of the Maori Land Court, the Maori freehold land described in the Schedule hereto, is hereby set apart as a Maori reservation for the purpose of a marae for the common use and benefit of the descendants of Tuhiariki.

Education Lands Act 1949

Land Declared No Longer Required for Education Purposes

Pursuant to section 5A of the Education Lands Act 1949, and pursuant to authority delegated to me, I, John Graeme Simpson, National Property Manager, Ministry of Education, Wellington, hereby give the following notice.
