Appointments, Promotions, Extensions, Transfers, Resignations and Retirements of Officers of the New Zealand Army

Pursuant to section 32 of the Defence Act 1990, His Excellency the Governor-General has approved the following appointments, promotions, extensions, transfers, resignations and retirements of officers of the New Zealand Army.

REGULAR FORCE

Royal Regiment of N.Z. Artillery

2nd Lieutenant Nathanael John Graham is transferred from the Territorial Force on a fixed engagement in his present rank, with seniority from 7 February 1995 and effect from 7 February 1996; terminating on 23 December 1996.

The Corps of Royal N.Z. Engineers

With reference to the notice published in the Gazette, 15 February 1996, No. 13, p. 443, for the following Lieutenants, for the seniority and effective dates "15 December 1994 and 15 December 1995" substitute "13 December 1994 and 13 December 1995":

Royal N.Z. Corps of Signals

Captain G.J. White to be acting Major with effect from 18 March 1996.

Royal N.Z. Infantry Regiment

Major K.A.R. Ashcroft, E.D., is transferred to the Territorial Force with effect from 1 February 1996.

Major R.S. Hart is re-engaged until 8 January 2002.

Captain Colin John Huston is transferred from the Territorial Force on a fixed engagement in his present rank and seniority with effect from 27 February 1996; terminating on 11 April 1997.

Acting Captain S.C. Challies relinquishes his acting rank from 2 March 1996 until 17 March 1996.

Lieutenant Vincent John Copeland is transferred to the Army Reserve, General List of Officers, with effect from 16 March 1996.

N.Z. Intelligence Corps

Colonel Commandant

The appointment of Colonel P.G. Hotop, M.B.E., Retired List, as Colonel Commandant, NZIC, is extended until 28 February 1997.

Royal N.Z. Corps of Transport

Colonel Commandant

The appointment of Brigadier T.G. Leighs, C.B.E., E.D., Retired List, as Colonel Commandant, RNZCT, is extended until 31 March 1997.

Lieutenant J.F. Monaghan, B.A.: with reference to the notice published in the Gazette, 15 February 1996, No. 13, p. 443, for the seniority and effective dates "15 December 1994 and 15 December 1995" substitute "13 December 1994 and 13 December 1995".

Royal N.Z. Army Medical Corps

Acting Major Andrew Carson Dunn, M.B., Ch.B., is transferred from the Territorial Force on a fixed engagement of 1 year in the rank of Major, with seniority from 18 March 1994 and effect from 18 March 1996.

Royal N.Z. Army Ordnance Corps

Major David Glyn Hughes, Royal Engineers, is appointed to the Regular Force on a fixed engagement of 3 years in the rank of Captain, with seniority from 4 March 1990 and effect from 4 March 1996.

Lieutenant and Quartermaster D.W. Knebel to be Captain and Quartermaster with seniority from 16 August 1994 and effect from 30 January 1996.

Lieutenant S.E. Reed, B.A.: with reference to the notice published in the Gazette, 15 February 1996, No. 13, p. 443, for the seniority and effective dates "15 December 1994 and 15 December 1995" substitute "13 December 1994 and 13 December 1995".

Lance Corporal Simon John Patric O’Neill is appointed to commission in the rank of Lieutenant, with seniority and effect from 16 January 1995.

Royal N.Z. Nursing Corps

Captain J.M. McKay is re-engaged until 9 January 2001.

The following are appointed to commissions on a fixed engagement of 3 years in the rank of Lieutenant, with seniority from 8 January 1994 and effect from 8 January 1996:

Brent Huia Cooper is appointed to commission in the rank of 2nd Lieutenant, with seniority and effect from 1 March 1996.

Royal N.Z. Corps of Signals

Keriana Isabel Houia is appointed to commission in the rank of 2nd Lieutenant, with seniority and effect from 1 March 1996.

2nd Signals Squadron, RNZ Sigs

Michelle Ann Hoare is appointed to commission in the rank of 2nd Lieutenant, with seniority and effect from 1 March 1996.
