Order of the Council in Disciplinary Session—Order in Respect of Shona Joy Kerr, Registered General and Obstetric Nurse

In exercise of its powers under sections 42 (1) (a), 42 (2) (ba), 42 (3) and 48A of the Nurses Act 1977 the Nursing Council of New Zealand, after due inquiry on 18 October 1995, ordered that registered general and obstetric nurse Shona Joy Kerr practise only subject to conditions for a period not exceeding 3 years; she pay $2,050.00 towards the costs and expenses of and incidental to the inquiry by the Council and that a notice stating the effect of these orders be published in the New Zealand Gazette, Kai Tiaki: Nursing New Zealand and the Otago Daily Times.

Order of the Council in Disciplinary Session—Order in Respect of William Joseph McVeigh, Registered Psychopaedic Nurse

In exercise of its powers under sections 42 (1) (a), 42 (2) (d), 42 (3) and 48A of the Nurses Act 1977 the Nursing Council of New Zealand, after due inquiry on 18 October 1995, ordered that registered psychopaedic nurse William Joseph McVeigh be censured; he pay $2,150.00 towards the costs and expenses of and incidental to the inquiry by the Council and that a notice stating the effect of these orders be published in the New Zealand Gazette and Kai Tiaki: Nursing New Zealand.

Order of the Council in Disciplinary Session—Order in Respect of Nancy Wilson Somerville, Registered General and Obstetric Nurse

In exercise of its powers under sections 42 (1) (b), 42 (2) (d), 42 (3) and 48A of the Nurses Act 1977 the Nursing Council of New Zealand, after due inquiry on 26, 27 and 28 April 1995 and 16 August 1995, ordered that registered general and obstetric nurse Nancy Wilson Somerville be censured; that she pay $5,000.00 towards the costs and expenses of and incidental to the inquiry by the Council and investigation made by the Preliminary Proceedings Committee and that a notice stating the effect of these orders be published in the New Zealand Gazette, and Kai Tiaki: Nursing New Zealand.

Order of the Council in Disciplinary Session—Order in Respect of Peter Andrew Strand, Registered Psychiatric Nurse

In exercise of its powers under sections 42 (1) (a), 42 (2) (a), 42 (9), 42 (3), 48A and 23 (2) of the Nurses Act 1977 the Nursing Council of New Zealand, after due inquiry on 18 October 1995, ordered that the name of Peter Andrew Strand be removed from the Register of Psychiatric Nurses. The Council declined to fix a time after which he may apply to have his name restored to the Register. The Council also ordered that he pay $1,500.00 towards the costs and expenses of and incidental to the inquiry by the Council; that a notice stating the effect of these orders be published in the New Zealand Gazette, Kai Tiaki: Nursing New Zealand and the Nelson Evening Mail and that he return to the Registrar all certificates and badges issued to him under the Nurses Act 1977.
