Shooting Hours: 7.00 a.m. to 6.30 p.m. or any period within these hours except that during the period 15 July to 24 November 1996 and 1 February to 30 March 1997 inclusive Canada goose may be hunted or killed 24 hours per day during the specified open season. Decoy Limit: No limit

Special Conditions

  1. Shooting from boats is prohibited during the month of May 1996 on the Mataura, Aparima, Oreti, Waiau and Waimatuku Rivers and their navigable tributaries.

Of the Closed Game Areas listed for the Southland Acclimatisation Society, numbers 1 and 4 are revoked.

Closed Game Area number 2 as listed for the Westland Acclimatisation District is amended by replacing “Okarito Creek” with “Otatoki Creek”.

Third Schedule

Game Licences and Licence Fees

This schedule notifies the definitions and classes of game licences and fees payable in respect of each class of licence and the conditions attached thereto as set out in Regulation 13 and the Fifth Schedule of the Wildlife Regulations 1955

The $1 game bird habitat stamp component of the following total licence fees is set by regulation 4 of the New Zealand Game Bird Habitat Stamp Regulations 1993.

The holder of any game licence for the 1996 game season shall be subject to the conditions and daily possession limits for each Fish and Game Region in which the hunting or killing of game takes place, as specified under the Second Schedule of the notice in the New Zealand Gazette in which the Minister of Conservation declared the 1996 open season for game.

The provisions of the Arms Act 1983 apply with respect to firearms used in accordance with the licence.

Definitions

Adult: Any person 20 years of age or older as at 4 May 1996.

Young Adult: Any person 16 years of age or older but not having obtained 20 years of age as at 4 May 1996.

Junior: Any person under the age of 16 years as at 4 May 1996.

Child: Any person under the age of 12 years as at 4 May 1996.

Class: New Zealand Whole Season Game Licence

Conditions: A New Zealand Whole Season Game licence shall enable the holder to hunt or kill game in all Fish and Game Regions of New Zealand.

Fees:

Adult: Fifty seven dollars licence fee plus one dollar game bird habitat stamp fee, a total of fifty eight dollars ($58.00 GST inclusive).

Young Adult: Twenty eight dollars and fifty cents licence fee plus one dollar game bird habitat stamp fee, a total of twenty nine dollars and fifty cents ($29.50 GST inclusive).

Junior: Eleven dollars licence fee plus one dollar game bird habitat stamp fee, a total of twelve dollars ($12.00 GST inclusive).

Child: One dollar game bird habitat stamp fee only, a total of one dollar ($1.00 GST inclusive).

Class: One Week Game Licence

Conditions:

(1) A one week licence may be issued and be available for use on or after the tenth day (Monday, 13 May 1996) of the open season for game for a period of seven (7) days from the date specified on the licence.

(2) The licence shall enable the holder to hunt or kill game in the region of issue only.

Fees:

Adult: Twenty eight dollars and fifty cents licence fee plus one dollar game bird habitat stamp fee, a total of twenty nine dollars and fifty cents (29.50 GST inclusive).

Young Adult: Fourteen dollars licence fee plus one dollar game bird habitat stamp fee, a total of fifteen dollars ($15.00 GST inclusive).

Junior: Five dollars and fifty cents licence fee plus one dollar game bird habitat stamp fee, a total of six dollars and fifty cents ($6.50 GST inclusive).

Child: One dollar game bird habitat stamp fee only, a total of one dollar ($1.00 GST inclusive).

Class: One Day Game Licence

Conditions:

(1) A One Day Licence may be issued and be available for use on or after the tenth day (Monday 13 May 1996) of the open season for game for a period of one day as specified on the licence.

(2) The licence shall enable the holder to hunt or kill game in the region of issue only.
