Appointments, Promotions, Extensions, Transfers, Resignations and Retirements of Officers of the New Zealand Army

Pursuant to section 32 of the Defence Act 1990, Her Excellency the Governor-General has approved the following appointments, promotions, extensions, transfers, resignations and retirements of officers of the New Zealand Army.

REGULAR FORCE

Brigadiers’ List

Brigadier Graham Douglas Birch, M.B.E., is posted to the Retired List with effect from 16 February 1996.

Brigadier S.D. Jameson, O.B.E., is re-engaged until 12 November 1998.

Colonels’ List

Colonel Trevor John McComish is posted to the Retired List with effect from 28 January 1996.

Colonel R.R. Ottaway, M.B.E., to be Brigadier with seniority and effect from 13 January 1996 and is transferred to the Brigadiers’ List.

Colonel S.G. Heaton, B.E.(HONS), is re-engaged until 1 August 2006.

Royal Regiment of N.Z. Artillery

Acting Lieutenant Colonel A.W. Goodwin to be Lieutenant Colonel with seniority from 1 June 1995 and effect from 18 December 1995.

Captain G.R. McMahon to be acting Major with effect from 19 December 1995.

2nd Lieutenant M.D. Weston to be Lieutenant with seniority and effect from 16 December 1995.

Royal N.Z. Armoured Corps

Lieutenant Colonel A.G. Johnson is re-engaged until 5 December 2004.

Major R.R. Jones, B.A.(MIL.), to be acting Lieutenant Colonel with effect from 18 December 1995 and Lieutenant Colonel with seniority from 1 May 1995 and effect from 19 December 1995.

Lieutenant Colonel Stanley Neville Pilbrow, RNZIR, is transferred from the Territorial Force on a fixed engagement of 3 years in the rank of Major, with seniority from 1 December 1989 and effect from 1 December 1995.

Captain J.D.S. Ramsden, B.A., to be acting Major with effect from 4 December 1995.

Acting Major P.W. van den Brock to be Major with seniority and effect from 10 January 1996.

2nd Lieutenant B.J. Horgan to be Lieutenant with seniority and effect from 16 December 1995.

Supernumerary List

Captain and Quartermaster S.G. Thompson, N.Z.C.C., to be acting Major and Quartermaster with effect from 24 November 1995.

The Corps of Royal N.Z. Engineers

Acting Lieutenant Colonel P.N. King relinquishes his acting rank with effect from 31 January 1996.

Acting Lieutenant Colonel C.P. Richardson, B.A.(MIL.), to be Lieutenant Colonel with seniority from 1 August 1995 and effect from 18 December 1995.
