- Pyke River all year
- Titiroa River, downstream of the Locks adjacent to the SH92 bridge all year
- Waiau River, from the Tuatapere bridge to the sea including Te Wae Wae Lagoon but excluding the Hollyburn all year
- Waihopai River, downstream from the Queens Drive bridge all year
- Waikawa River, from the Niagara bridge to the sea all year
- Waikiwi Stream, downstream from the North Road bridge all year
- Waimatuku Stream, downstream from the bridge on Rance Road all year
- Lake Ada all year
- Lake Alabaster all year
- Lake Hauroko all year
- Lake Manapouri (includes that portion of the Waiau River between Pearl Harbour and the confluence of the Mararoa River) all year
- Lake McKerrow all year
- Lake Monowai all year
- Lake Poteriteri all year
- Lake Te Anau all year
- Donovan Park Pond all year
- All waters draining into Lakes Te Anau, Manapouri, Monowai, Hauroko and Poteriteri except the Waiau River 1 November-31 May (both days inclusive)
- Waiau River, between Lakes Manapouri and Te Anau 1 October-31 May (both days inclusive)
- All other waters of the region except those specified in Section 2 of this Schedule 1 October-30 April (both days inclusive)
2. Closed Waters
No licence holder shall take sports fish from the following waters:
That portion of Lake Te Anau that lies within 100 metres of any part of the wharf of the Fiordland Travel Company’s office in the township of Te Anau;
That portion of Lake Manapouri which lies with 100 metres of any part of the Fiordland Travel Company’s Tourist Centre, Pearl Harbour, Manapouri.
3. Hours of Fishing
All waters. No restriction.
4. Authorised Tackle
No licence holder shall use with any tackle other than any fly, natural bait, or other lure with any single, double or treble hook. Any hook used shall have a distance of 14 mm or less between the point and the nearest part of the shank of the hook.
5. Restriction on the Use of Boats and Motor Vehicles
5.1. No licence holder shall fish from any boat other than a row boat in Lake Thomas.
5.2. No licence holder shall fish from any boat or launch in that part of Lake Waituna which lies on the seaward side of a line between two white signposts indicating the restriction
5.3. No licence holder shall fish from any boat, canoe, pontoon, or any form of flotation device in the Mataura River upstream from the Mataura Island bridge.
6. Experimental Catch and Release Zones
No licence holder shall kill or possess sports fish taken from the following catch and release zones.
(a) Eglinton River from the confluence of Waterfall Creek to the confluence of Smithy Creek.
(b) Oreti River from the bridge on the Mount Nicholas Road to the downstream limit of the “walk only zone” at map ref NZMS 260 D43 294185.
(c) Mataura River from the bridge at Fairlight downstream to the bridge at Garston.
7. Artificial Fly Only Waters (includes tributaries)
Eglinton River
Upukerora River, except that junior or child free licence holders may fish downstream of the SH94 bridge with any artificial bait.
8. Artificial Bait Only Waters (includes tributaries)
Aparima River upstream of the Hamilton Burn confluence
Arthur River
Borland River
Cleddau River
Hamilton Burn River above Mossburn-Otautau Road
Hollyford River
Mararoa River upstream of Key Bridge
Monowai River
Oreti River upstream of Rocky Point, 2 km west of Mossburn
Pyke River
Waiau River between Lakes Manapouri and Te Anau
Wairaki River above the electricity transmission lines
Whitestone River
Lake Ada
Lake Alabaster
Lake Fergus
Lake Gunn
Lake Hankinson
Lake Hauroko
Lake Manapouri
Lake McKerrow
Lake Monowai
Lake Poteriteri
Lake Te Anau
North Mavora Lake
South Mavora Lake
All waters flowing into Lakes Te Anau, Manapouri, Monowai, Hauroko and Poteriteri excluding those specified in Section 7 of this Schedule and the Mararoa River downstream of the Key Bridge.
9. Bait Fishing Waters
No licence holder shall fish for sports fish with any lure or bait other than artificial fly, insect, worm, crustacean, minnow, fish (excluding any fish ova or any portion of a fish) or any shell fish (mollusca) in all remaining waters.
