Note above restrictions on fishing near lake tributaries.

2. Authorised and Prohibited Tackle

2.1 A landing net or gaff may be used to land or secure any sports fish caught on a running line.

2.2 No licence holder when fishing for sports fish in the waters of lakes Mapourika, Kaniere, Paringa, Moeraki or Ellery shall use any lure having attached to it more than one hook or a hook which is not single pointed or barbed.

3.2 SALMON

Daily Limit
All waters 1 salmon

3.3 PERCH

Daily Limit
All waters—perch no limit

3.4 No licenceholder shall continue to fish for trout or salmon on any day on which he/she has already taken the limit bag.

3.5 It shall be permissible to make up the difference between a lesser bag limit prescribed in one place and a higher bag limit prescribed in another place.

4. Minimum Size

The minimum size for trout or salmon shall be:

Lake Paringa 30 cm
Lake Wahapo 30 cm
Lake Kaniere 30 cm
Lake Moeraki 30 cm
Lake Ellery 30 cm
All other waters no minimum size

CENTRAL SOUTH ISLAND FISH AND GAME REGION

1. Interpretation

In this notice—

“Total Weight” in relation to any rod fishing shall include the weight of anything attached to the line.

“Artificial fly fishing” means to fish for sportsfish using any lure or feather, fur, wool or other material of any kind customarily used in the making of artificial flies;
