Notification of Ordinary Rules

Pursuant to section 34 of the Civil Aviation Act 1990, notification is hereby given of amendments to the ordinary rules set out in the Schedule hereto which shall come into force on the 8th day of February 1996.

Transport Act 1962

The Traffic (Ruapehu District) Notice No. 1, 1995

Pursuant to section 52 of the Transport Act 1962, and regulation 21 (2) of the Traffic Regulations 1976, and under and by way of powers delegated to me from the Minister of Transport in an instrument of delegation dated 31 August 1990, I, Judith Olga Stack, Secretary for Transport, give the following notice:

This notice may be cited as the Traffic (Ruapehu District) Notice No. 1, 1995.

Pursuant to sections 52 (1)(e) and 52 (2) of the Transport Act 1962 and regulation 21(2) of the Traffic Regulations, it is hereby declared that those localities and roads within markings identified in the legends of and appearing on plans numbered TT9539/1, entitled “Speed Restriction – Ruapehu District Waimarino and Waiouru Wards”, TT9539/2, entitled “Speed Restriction – Ruapehu District National Park Ward” and TT9539/3, entitled “Speed Restriction: Ruapehu District Taumarunui and Ohura Wards” and held by the head office of the Land Transport Safety Authority, to be closely populated localities, 70 km/h speed limit areas, limited speed zones or to be excluded from the limitation as to speed imposed by subsection 52 (1) of the Transport Act 1962, and regulation 21 (2) of the Traffic Regulations 1976, as may be ascertained from the legends referred to on the above mentioned plans. The said plans and legends are hereby incorporated in this notice.

This notice revokes and is in substitution of all previous traffic notices issued pursuant to section 52 of the Transport Act 1962, regulation 21 (2) of the Traffic Regulations 1976, regulations 27, 27A and 27B of the Traffic Regulations 1956, section 36 of the Transport Act 1949, and section 3 of the Motor Vehicles Amendment Act 1936, for the former Ohakune Borough, Ohura Town District, Rangitikei County, Taumarunui Borough, Taumarunui County, Waimarino County now comprising the Ruapehu District.

Transport (Vehicle and Driver Registration and Licensing) Act 1986

Notification of Theoretical Questions for Driver Licence Tests

Pursuant to section 48 1A of the Transport (Vehicle and Driver Registration and Licensing) Act 1986, I, Leonard William Robertson, Manager Education and Information, Safer People and Operators section, hereby prescribe the questions contained within the publications listed in the Schedule hereto, as the theoretical examinations to be undergone by applicants for the classes of licence specified under Part I of the Second Schedule of the Transport (Driver Licensing) Regulations 1987.

Schedule

“The Licence Guide” – for classes A, AM, B. Published by GP Publications Limited 1990, as amended November 1995.

This notice takes effect from 9 January 1996.

Copies of the publications are available from most booksellers. For further details contact the Education and Information section of the Land Transport Safety Authority, P.O. Box 2840, Wellington.

Previous editions will cease to be authorised for the purposes of the Transport (Driver Licensing Regulations 1987) from 3 March 1996.
