DISTRICT ANGLERS (EASTERN FISH AND
GAME REGION) NOTICE 1990,
AMENDMENT NO. 4

Pursuant to section 26R (3) of the Conservation Act 1987,
the Eastern Fish and Game Council amends the District
Anglers (Eastern Fish and Game Region) Notice 1990,
supplement to the New Zealand Gazette, 1990, No.151,
pages 3205-3208.

1. Title and commencement—(1) This amending notice
may be cited as the District Anglers (Eastern Fish and
Game region) Notice 1990, Amendment No. 4, and shall be
read together with and deemed part of the District Anglers
(Eastern Fish and Game Region) Notice 1990 (hereinafter
referred to as the "principal notice").

(2) This amending notice shall come into force on the 1st
day of October 1995.

2. Open Season—Clause 4 of the principal notice is
repealed and sustituted with the following clause:

"4. Open Season—(1) Except as provided in subclauses
(2), (3) and (4) of this clause, there shall be an open season
for fishing for sports fish from the 1st day of October in
any year to the 30th day of June in the following year (both
days inclusive) in all waters.

(2) There shall be an open season for fishing for sports fish
from the 1st day of October in any year to the 31st day of
May in the following year (both days inclusive) in the
following waters:

(i) The waters between landmarks approximately 150
metres downstream of the Lake Tarawera Outlet and the
falls approximately 2500 metres downstream from the
outlet.

(ii) The Hopuruahine River from its source to the main
Rotorua-Wairo highway bridge which crosses this river at
the falls.

(3) There shall be an open season for fishing for sports fish
from the 1st day of December in any one year to the 30th
day of June in the following year (both days inclusive), in
the following waters:

(i) Those rivers and streams flowing into Lake Rotorua
(excluding those springs and streams in clause 6 (b) and 6
(c) and Lake Waikaremoana (but excluding Lake
Waikareiti, and that part of the Hopuruahine River from its
source to the main Rotorua-Wairoa highway bridge which
crosses the river at the falls).

(4) There shall be an open season for fishing for sports fish
from the 1st day of October in any year to the 30th day of
September in the following year (both days inclusive) in
the following waters:

(i) Lake Okareka, Maraetai, Whakamaru, Atiamuri,
Ohakuri, Aratiatia Lake up to Huka Falls, and the Tiniroto
and Putere Lakes.

(ii) Lake Rotorua exclusing those waters which lead into
the Ohau Channel and which are inwardly bounded by
landmarks.

(iii) That part of Lake Rotoiti abutting the southern
shoreline between landmarks situated at Ruato and
Hinehopu and extending from that shoreline for a distance
of 100 metres into Lake Rotoiti.

(iv) That part of Lake Okataina abutting the northern
shoreline between landmarks situated at Te Koutu Point
and west of the Okataina Lodge and extending from the
shoreline for a distance of 100 metres into Lake Okataina.

(v) The Kaituna River (excluding tributary streams)
downstream of the flow control structure marking the outlet
of Lake Rotoiti.

(vi) The Whakatane River (excluding tributary streams)
downstream of its confluence with the Owaka Stream.

(vii) The Waimana River downstream of the Reid Road
bridge.

(viii) The Wairoa River downstream of the Te Reinga
Falls.

(ix) The Waikaretaheke River downstream of the
Piripaua powerhouse.

(x) The Waiau River downstream of its confluence with
the Waikaretaheke River.

(xi) That part of Lake Tarawera abutting the western
shoreline between landmarks at either end of the beach area
known as the Te Wairoa landing and extending from that
shoreline for a distance of 100 metres into Lake Tarawera.

(xii) Lake McLaren and the Ruahihi Canal.

(xiii) That part of Lake Rotoma abutting the southern
shoreline, between landmarks and extending 100 metres
into Lake Rotoma.

(xiv) Lake Waikaremoana

(xv) Lakes Matahina, Aniwhenua and the Rangitaki and
Flaxy canals.

(xvi) The Rangitaiki River (excluding tributary streams),
downstream of its confluence with the Otamatea Stream
(but excluding those portions specified in subclause (4)
(xv) of this clause and subclause 6 (e).

3. Restrictions on the use of boats—(1) Clause 10 (e) of
the principal notice is amended by substituting the
reference to "15 metres" with '100 metres'.

DISTRICT ANGLERS (HAWKE'S BAY FISH
AND GAME REGION) NOTICE 1993,
AMENDMENT NO. 1

Pursuant to section 26R (3) of the Conservation Act 1987
the Hawkes Bay Fish and Game Council amends the
District Anglers (Hawke's Bay Fish and Game Region)
Notice 1993, supplement to the New Zealand Gazette,
1993, No. 131, page 2689.

1. Title and commencement—(1) This amending notice
may be cited as the District Anglers (Hawke's Bay Fish
and Game Region) Notice 1993, Amendment No. 1, and
shall be read together with and deemed part of the District
Anglers (Hawke's Bay Fish and Game Region) Notice
1993 (hereinafter referred to as the "principal notice").

(2) This amending notice shall come into force on the 1st
day of October 1995.

2. Open season—(1) Clause 3 (2) of the principal notice is
amended by deleting the words "Subject to clause 3 (4)".

(2) Clause 3 (4) of the principal notice is repealed.

(3) Clause 3 (5) of the principal notice is renumbered as
clause 3 (4).

3. Authorised lures and baits—(1) Clause 8 (2) of the
principal notice is repealed and replaced with:

"(2) No licence holder when fishing for sports fish shall:

(a) Use any lure or bait other than artificial fly in
Cochranes Creek or the Hautapu, Mangaonuku,
Maharakiki, Mangaone, Maraetotara, Makaretu, Te Hoe or
Tukipo Rivers, or any tributary of any such river;

(b) Use as any lure or bait, any fish ova or portion of a
fish or any shellfish (mollusca), or the freshwater crayfish
(koura), or any worm, natural nymph, creeper, larva, or the
huhu or matai grub, or bread dough;
