The Fisheries (Southern Scallop Fishery Season) Notice 1995 (No. F2)

Pursuant to section 28ZM (3) of the Fisheries Act 1983, and delegation made pursuant to sections 28 and 41 of the State Sector Act 1988, the Policy Manager (Central), Ministry of Fisheries, hereby makes the following notice:

N o t i c e

  1. Title and commencement—(1) This notice may be cited as the Fisheries (Southern Scallop Fishery Season) Notice 1995.

(2) This notice shall come into effect on the 30th day of August 1995.

  1. Interpretation—In this notice any reference to the Southern Scallop Fishery means the fishery described in Part I of Schedule 1D to the Fisheries Act 1983.

  2. Scallop season—The period commencing on the 30th day of August 1995 and ending with the close of the 21st day of December 1995 shall be the commercial Southern Scallop Fishery season for the 1995 season.

The Fisheries (Southern Scallop Fishery Rotational Fishing) Notice 1995 (No. F3)

Pursuant to section 28ZFZ (2) of the Fisheries Act 1983, and delegation made pursuant to section 41 of the State Sector Act 1988, the Acting Manager Fisheries Services, Ministry of Fisheries, hereby makes the following notice:

N o t i c e

  1. Title and commencement—(1) This notice may be cited as the Fisheries (Southern Scallop Fishery Rotational Fishing) Notice 1995.

(2) This notice shall come into effect on the 30th day of August 1995.

  1. Interpretation—In this notice any reference to the Southern Scallop Fishery means the fishery described in Part I of Schedule 1D to the Fisheries Act 1983.

  2. Rotational Fishing Areas—No commercial fisherman shall take scallops from the following defined areas within the waters of the Southern Scallop Fishery.

(a) Area A:
The area contained by a straight line from Outer Leading Light at Collingwood at 40° 40.7’S and 172° 41.0’E to Bush End Point Light, Farewell Spit at 40° 32.9’S and 173° 00.6’E and then back along the mean high water to the point of commencement at the Outer Leading Light at Collingwood.

(b) Areas D, E and F:
The area contained by a straight line commencing from 40° 49’S and 173° 00.9’E to a straight point in Tasman Bay at 40° 47.7’S and 173° 07.7’E then to a point in Tasman Bay at 41° 02.8’S and 173° 16.1’E, then to the Eastern end of Rabbit Island at 41° 17.1’S and 173° 11.8’E and then proceeding in a northwesterly direction to a point at Mapua at 41° 14.9’S and 173° 06.2’E and then back along the high water mark to the point of commencement. Except that scallops may be taken from Area E in that area enclosed by straight lines commencing at a point at 41° 01.0’S, 173° 04.5’E and proceeding to a point at 41° 03.0’S, 173° 04.5’E and then back to the point of commencement, and from Area F in that area enclosed by straight lines commencing at a point at 41° 06.5’S, 173° 08.5’E and proceeding to a point at 41° 06.5’S, 173° 11.5’E and proceeding back to a point at 41° 08.5’S, 173° 08.5’E and then back to the point of commencement.

  1. Cancellation of Previous Notice—The Fisheries (Southern Scallop Fishery Rotational Fishing) Notice (No. 5356) published in the New Zealand Gazette on the 21st day of July 1994, Issue No. 73 at page 2343 is hereby cancelled.

Civil Defence Act 1983

Declaration of a State of Local Civil Defence Emergency

Pursuant to section 52 of the Civil Defence Act 1983, I, Basil James Morrison, hereby declare a state of local civil defence emergency to be in force in the Thames Area and Plains Ward of the Thames Valley Combined District Civil Defence Organisation.

The state of local civil defence emergency shall come into force on the time and date of making of this declaration.

Declared by: B. J. Morrison.

Designation: Local Controller.

Time and Date of Declaration: 9.15 p.m., 14 July 1995.

Declaration Terminating State of Local Civil Defence Emergency

Pursuant to section 56 of the Civil Defence Act 1983, I, Colin Brokenshire, hereby terminate the state of local civil defence emergency declared in respect of Thames Area and Plains Ward of the Thames Valley Combined District Civil Defence Organisation.

The termination of the state of local civil defence emergency shall take effect from the time and date of making of the declaration.

Time and Date of Declaration: 3.30 p.m., 15 July 1995.
