cause to believe, in relation to the goods specified in the First Schedule to this notice (hereinafter referred to as the subject goods), thatβ€”

(a) The subject goods imported or intended to be imported into New Zealand are being dumped; and

(b) By reason thereof material injury to an industry has been and is being caused,β€”

and also I am satisfied that action under section 16 of the Act is necessary to prevent material injury during the period of investigation.

Pursuant to section 16 (1) of the Act, I hereby give notice of a provisional direction that payment of anti-dumping duty in the Second Schedule to this notice, in respect of the subject goods, shall be secured in accordance with Part IX of the Customs Act 1966.

FIRST SCHEDULE

Goods Subject To Investigation

Countries of Origin
Korea and Taiwan.

Description of Goods
Phenolic resin bonded reinforced agglomerated abrasives (excluding agglomerated diamond abrasives of either natural or synthetic form), of the following types and dimensions:

  • Grinding discs or wheels with diameters up to 230 mm and thicknesses up to 10 mm;
  • Cut off wheels or discs with diameters up to 409 mm.

The goods are currently classified under Tariff Item and Statistical Key 6804.22.00 01B of the Tariff of New Zealand, which classification is provided for convenience and Customs purposes only, the written description being dispositive.

SECOND SCHEDULE

Rate of Anti-Dumping Duty to be Secured

The rate of anti-dumping duty to be secured in respect of subject goods imported or intended to be imported from the suppliers listed below, shall be the rate specified below in respect of that producer calculated as a percentage of the declared value for duty of the subject goods:

Closure of Kauangaroa School Notice

Pursuant to section 154 of the Education Act 1989, and acting under the authority delegated to me, I hereby declare the Kauangaroa School in Wanganui, will close on the 20th day of July 1995 and cease to be established on that day.

Te Kura Kaupapa Maori O Te Wananga Whare Taper O Takitimu

Pursuant to sections 146 and 155 of the Education Act 1989, the Minister of Education, hereby gives the following notice:

Notice

  1. This notice may be cited as the Te Kura Kaupapa Maori O Te Wananga Whare Taper O Takitimu.

  2. The notice shall come into force on 1 January 1996.

  3. I hereby establish in Hastings a primary school called Te Kura Kaupapa Maori O Te Wananga Whare Taper O Takitimu, and designate the school as a kura kaupapa Maori.

  4. Aims, purposes, and objectives of Te Kura Kaupapa Maori O Te Wananga Whare Taper O Takitimu.

Together with the use of te reo Maori as the principal language of instruction, the following aims, purposes, and objectives constitute the character of Te Kura Kaupapa Maori O Te Wananga Whare Taper O Takitimu:

(i) To develop a high degree of self esteem in every student.

(ii) To encourage a sense of pride in being Maori, and to encourage self respect and self confidence.

(iii) To allow each student to discover his/her potential and to explore and extend their individual and group activity.

(iv) To teach the positive aspects of sharing, supporting, and participation.

(v) To reinforce the practical and spiritual value of Maori language and land.

(vi) To cultivate an awareness of the place of the individual in the universe and his/her relationship and responsibilities to all people and things in nature.

(vii) To enhance the cultural differences as a positive feature of a multi-cultural society.

(viii) To ensure a high standard of achievement in the acquisition of educational and vocational skills.
