Notification of the Acquisition of a Reserve, Classification and Naming of the Reserve
Pursuant to the Reserves Act 1977, and to a delegation from the Minister of Conservation, the Regional Conservator, Auckland Conservancy, Department of Conservation, hereby notifies that the area described in the Schedule hereto has been acquired for scenic reserve purposes to be held by Her Majesty the Queen in perpetuity in trust for the people of New Zealand, and the people of the Auckland region and of Manukau City in particular with contributions from the Forest Heritage Fund as to a 1/2 share, The Auckland Regional Council as to a 5/18 share and The Manukau City Council as to a 4/18 share.
The reserve is hereby declared to be classified as a scenic reserve subject to section 19 (1) (a) of the Reserves Act 1977 to be known as the Kiripaka Wildlife Scenic Reserve.

523.1369 hectares, more or less, being Lot 1, D.P. 162670, situated in Blocks X and XIV, Wairoa Survey District. All certificate of title 98A/464. Subject to section 243 (c) of the Resource Management Act 1991 and together with a right of way easement created by transfer C. 820093.2.

Revocation of the Reservation Over a Reserve and Specifying the Manner of Disposal and How Proceeds of Sale Shall be Utilised
Pursuant to the Reserves Act 1977, and to a delegation from the Minister of Conservation, the Regional Conservator for the Auckland Conservancy of the Department of Conservation, hereby revokes the reservation as an esplanade reserve over the land described in the Schedule hereto, and further declares that the said land may be disposed of by The Waitakere City Council at current market value, the proceeds from any such sale to be paid into the council’s reserve account, such moneys to be used and applied in and towards the improvements of other reserves under the control of the council, or in or towards the purchase of other land for reserves.

Prohibition of Access Other Than by a Permit to Somes Island Reserve
Pursuant to section 22 (5) of the Reserves Act 1977, and to a delegation from the Director-General of Conservation, the Regional Conservator of the Wellington Conservancy of the Department of Conservation, advises that entry to the Somes Island reserve, as described in the Schedule hereto, up to 31 July 1995 is prohibited unless authorised by permit by the Regional Conservator. From and including 01 August 1995 entry is permitted at the wharf access points between the hours of 8.30 a.m. to 5 p.m. to persons not having in their possession or under their control any domestic pet or animal pest or any tobacco product or tobacco associated lighters. Entry outside those hours (or remaining on the island outside of those hours) or to different parts of the island or to those persons in possession or who have under their control the matters referred to in the previous sentence is prohibited unless a permit is first obtained from the Regional Conservator.

Pursuant to section 21 of the Maori Affairs Restructuring Act 1989, the Chief Executive of the Ministry of Maori Development hereby gives notice as follows:
