Appointments, Promotions, Extensions, Transfers, Resignations and Retirements of Officers of the Royal New Zealand Navy

Pursuant to section 32 of the Defence Act 1990, Her Excellency the Governor-General has approved the following appointments, promotions, extensions, transfers, resignations and retirements of officers of the New Zealand Naval Forces.

ROYAL NEW ZEALAND NAVY

Chief of Defence Force

Vice Admiral Sir Somerford Francis Teagle, K.B.E., is placed on the Retired List of the RNZN with effect from 25 February 1995.

Commodore K.F. Wilson, C.B.E., L.V.O., to be Rear Admiral with seniority and effect from 10 April 1995.

Captain D.W. Palmer to be Commodore with seniority and effect from 3 April 1995.

The appointment of Commander S.M. Duff, V.R.D., DIP.B.S., is extended until 31 January 1996.

Acting Captain C.M. Beentjes to be Captain with seniority and effect from 1 January 1995.

The appointment of Commander C. Quincey, M.B.E., is extended until 7 June 1995.

Commander Lyal Alexander Cocks is placed on the Emergency List of Officers of the Naval Reserves with effect from 11 March 1995.

The appointment of Commander W.J. Tucker, B.E.(MECH.) is extended until 21 March 2009.

The appointment of Lieutenant Commander J.C. Fincham, B.SC., DIP.TCHG, is extended until 16 December 1997.

Acting Commander W.E. Goossens, B.SC., DIP.B.S., to be Commander with seniority and effect from 1 January 1995.

Lieutenant Commander John Hugh Aitken is placed on the Emergency List of Officers of the Naval Reserves with effect from 11 January 1995.

Lieutenant Commander D.P. Pickerill, N.Z.C.E., to be acting Commander with effect from 6 February 1995.
