Financial Reporting Act 1993

Notice No. (7) of Approval of Financial Reporting Standards

Notice is hereby given, pursuant to section 29 of the Financial Reporting Act 1993 (“the Act”) that the Accounting Standards Review Board has approved, for the purposes of the Act, Financial Reporting Standard No. 9 “Information to be Disclosed in Financial Statements” submitted to it by the New Zealand Society of Accountants.

FRS-9 is to apply to all reporting entities, the Crown, Departments, offices of Parliament and Crown entities (each of which terms is defined in the Act) except to the extent that any such entity is expressly exempted by the terms of the standard, for application to accounting periods and interim accounting periods that end on or after 1 July 1995.

Nurses Act 1977

Order of the Council in Disciplinary Session

The following order has been subject to appeal in the High Court and may now be published:

Order in Respect of Registered Comprehensive Nurse—Kathleen Alice Stewart

In exercise of its powers under sections 42 (1) (b), 42 (2) (ba), 42 (2) (d), 42 (3) and 48A of the Nurses Act 1977, the Nursing Council of New Zealand after due inquiry on 13–14 October 1993, found Kathleen Alice Stewart to have been guilty of professional misconduct and ordered that she may, for a period of twelve (12) months from such date as she recommences nursing practice, practise only subject to conditions specified by the Nursing Council; that she pay $15,000 or 75% of actual costs (whichever is the lesser) toward the costs and expenses of and incidental to the inquiry by the Council and investigation made by the Preliminary Proceedings Committee, and that a notice stating the effect of these orders be published in the New Zealand Gazette and Kai Tiaki : Nursing New Zealand (formerly The New Zealand Nursing Journal).
