Dumping and Countervailing Duties Act 1988

Initiation of Dumping Investigation: Disposable Lighters from China and the Philippines

Notice is hereby given that, acting pursuant to section 10 (1) of the Dumping and Countervailing Duties Act 1988, and under delegated authority from the Secretary of Commerce, I have initiated an investigation to determine both the existence and effect of the alleged dumping of the goods described and from the countries of origin specified in the Schedule to this notice, being satisfied that sufficient evidence has been provided that:

(a) The goods have been imported or intended to be imported into New Zealand are being dumped; and

(b) By reason thereof material injury to an industry has been or is being caused.

SCHEDULE

Goods Subject to Investigation

Countries of Origin
China and the Philippines.

Description of Goods
Disposable lighters whose fuel is butane, isobutane, propane, or other liquefied hydrocarbon, or a mixture containing any of these, whether or not they are capable of being refilled.

The goods are currently classified under Tariff Items and Statistical Keys 9613.10.00.00D and 9613.20.00.00H of the Tariff of New Zealand, which classification is provided for convenience and Customs purposes only, the written description being dispositive.

Pursuant to section 60 (2) of the Patents Act 1953, and section 10 (2) of the Designs Act 1953, I, Dame Catherine Anne Tizard, the Governor-General of New Zealand, do hereby declare the South Island Agricultural Field Days, to be held at the Lincoln University Farm, Lincoln, New Zealand from Wednesday, the 29th day of March 1995 to Friday, the 31st day of March 1995 inclusive, to be an Industrial Exhibition for the purposes of the said Acts.

As witness the hand of Her Excellency the Governor-General, signed this 14th day of February 1995.

Notice of Approval of Bylaw Amendment—Queenstown-Lakes District Council

The Minister of Transport and the Minister of Conservation, pursuant to section 424 (6) of the Resource Management Act 1991, hereby give approval to an amendment to The Queenstown-Lakes District Council Navigation Safety Bylaw “The Lakes District Waterway Authority Control Bylaws 1989” as completed by the council in April/May 1994.
