New Zealand Timberlands Rural Fire District
Notice 1992, Amendment No. 5
Pursuant to the Forest and Rural Fires Act 1977, the National Rural Fire Authority hereby makes the following notice.
N o t i c e
- Title and commencement—(1) This notice may be cited as the New Zealand Timberlands Rural Fire District Notice 1992, Amendment No. 5 and shall be read with and deemed part of the notice constituting the New Zealand Timberlands Rural Fire District made on the 28th day of February 1992 (a) (hereinafter referred to as the principal notice).
(2) This notice shall come into force on the 28th day after its notification in the New Zealand Gazette.
- Amendment of Rural Fire District—(1) The principal notice is hereby amended by revoking clause 13, clause 14, clause 15 and clause 16 of the Schedule.
(2) This clause shall be read together and be deemed part of the principal notice.

Eastland Rural Fire District Notice 1995
Pursuant to the Forest and Rural Fires Act 1977, the National Rural Fire Authority hereby makes the following notice.
N o t i c e
- (1) This notice shall be cited as the Eastland Rural Fire District Notice 1995;
(2) The Eastland Rural Fire District Notice 1990 and all its amendments (a) are hereby revoked;
(3) The Waiopehu Rural Fire District Notice 1991 and all its amendments (b) are hereby revoked; and
(4) This notice shall come into force on the 28th day after its notification in the New Zealand Gazette.
- In this notice, unless the context otherwise requires:
the “Act” means the Forest and Rural Fires Act 1977;
the “committee” means the Eastland Rural Fire Committee;
the “district” means the Eastland Rural Fire District; and
the “notice” means the Eastland Rural Fire District Notice 1995.
Constitution of the Rural Fire District
- (1) The areas set out in the Schedule to this notice are hereby constituted and declared to be the district;
(2) For the purpose of the Act the district shall be administered by the committee;
(3) The committee shall consist of eight members as follows:
(a) One person appointed, in writing, by Hikurangi Forest Farms Limited signed on behalf of that company by one director and the secretary thereof;
(b) One person appointed, in writing, by Juken Nissho Limited signed on behalf of that company by one director and the secretary thereof;
(c) One person appointed, in writing, by P.F. Olsen and Company Limited signed on behalf of that company by one director and the secretary thereof;
(d) One person appointed, in writing, by Rayonier New Zealand Limited signed on behalf of that company by one director and the secretary thereof;
(e) One person appointed, in writing, by Ngati Porou Forest Limited signed on behalf of that company by one director and the secretary thereof;
(f) One person appointed, in writing, by the Secretary of Forestry for the Ministry of Forestry;
(g) One person appointed, in writing, by the Gisborne District Council; and
(h) One person appointed, in writing, by the Director-General of the Department of Conservation.
(4) The area set out in the Schedule to the notice does not include any “fire district” as that term is defined in section 2 of the Fire Service Act 1975.
(5) The period between the 1st day of October in any year and the 30th day of September in the following year (both days inclusive) is hereby declared to be a restricted fire season in the district.
