Notice of Intention to Apply for Leave to Introduce Bill—Farmers’ Mutual Group Bill 1995
Take notice that the Farmers’ Mutual Insurance Association intends to promote a private Bill, the objects of which are:
(a) To reconstitute Farmers’ Mutual Insurance Association, at present an association incorporated under the Mutual Insurance Act 1955, as a company under the Companies Act 1993 with the name “Farmers’ Mutual Insurance Limited”; and

The Bill varies the application of the Companies Act 1993 to the holding company contemplated by the Bill. If certain amendments are made to the Co-operative Companies Bill at present before the House, the holding company may register under that legislation and the Farmers’ Mutual Group Bill would be amended accordingly.
