Tuberculosis Control Scheme: Compensation For Cattle Reactors Notice Amendment No 1 (AG. 28)
This notice amends the Tuberculosis Control Scheme: Compensation For Cattle Reactors Notice (No. 5188) published in the New Zealand Gazette, 5 November 1992, Issue No. 179 at page 3727.
Pursuant to section 178 of the Biosecurity Act 1993, every notice made by the Director-General under section 53AA of the Animals Act 1967, continues in force in all respects.
The Director-General in consultation with the Animal Health Board has amended the compensation rates which apply for tuberculosis reactors found in any herd.
The Tuberculosis Control Scheme: Compensation For Cattle Reactors Notice is hereby amended by:
(i) omitting paragraph 3, A and B, and substituting the following paragraph:
Accordingly, the Director-General in consultation with the Animal Health Board, has fixed a compensation rate which applies to tuberculin reactors found in any herd, of 65% of the market value (up to the maximum allowable), and
(ii) omitting the last paragraph which refers to category A and B herds.
This notice takes effect from 1 November 1995.
Reason for this amendment notice:
In March 1995 the Animal Health Board published a discussion document titled Tb Beyond 2000. As a result of submissions and over 40 public meetings, the above compensation regime was selected as the favoured option.
Dated at Wellington this 15th day of September 1995.
