Transit New Zealand Act 1989

Declaring State Highway to be a Limited Access Road—State Highway No. 2 and State Highway No. 50 Hyderabad Road/Taradale Road

It is notified that Transit New Zealand, by resolution dated 6 July 1994 and pursuant to section 88 (1) of the Transit New Zealand Act 1989, hereby declares that part of State Highway No. 2 and State Highway No. 50 from the intersection of Pandora Road at RP 2/0.00 on Hyderabad Road/State Highway 2/State Highway 50 via the Pettigrew’s Corner roundabout at the junction of State Highway 2 and State Highway 50, and thence 140 metres southward along State Highway 50 to the railway crossing at RP 3/0.14; a distance of 1.14 kilometres as more particularly shown on Sheet 1 of Plan LA 30/2/4 and accompanying Schedule held in the office of the Regional Manager, Transit New Zealand, Napier and there available for public inspection, to be a limited access road.

Declaring Land to be Held for Conservation Purposes

Pursuant to section 7 (1) of the Conservation Act 1987, the Minister of Conservation, and the Minister of Lands, being the Minister responsible for the Department of State that has control of the land described in the Schedule hereto, jointly declare that the land is held for conservation purposes.

Reservation of Land

Pursuant to the Land Act 1948, the Minister of Conservation, with the consent of the Minister of Lands, hereby sets apart the land described in the Schedule hereto, as a Government purpose (wildlife management) reserve, subject to the provisions of the Reserves Act 1977.

Reserves Act 1977

Revocation of the Reservation Over Part of a Reserve

Pursuant to the Reserves Act 1977, and to a delegation from the Minister of Conservation, the Regional Conservator, Canterbury, hereby revokes the reservation over that part of the reserve for abattoirs, public pound, sewage, cattle yards and plantations described in the Schedule hereto.
