Insurance Companies’ Deposits Act 1953

NRG Victory Australia Limited—Proposed Release of Deposit

NRG Victory Australia Limited (herein called “the company”), has given notice to the Public Trustee that it has ceased to carry on business of insurance in New Zealand and that it proposes to withdraw, pursuant to section 19 of the Act, the deposit which has been made by it with the Public Trustee.

The Public Trustee therefore gives notice, pursuant to section 19 (3) of the Act, that being satisfied that all liabilities of the company in New Zealand in respect of such insurance business have been fully liquidated or provided for, he proposes to release to the company on or after 20 July 1994, the amount deposited with him by the company.

Any objections to the release of the amount deposited should be lodged with the Public Trustee at the Public Trust Office, 117–125 Lambton Quay, Wellington 1, on or before 20th day of June 1994.

Reserves Act 1977

Classification of a Reserve

Pursuant to the Reserves Act 1977, and to a delegation from the Minister of Conservation, the Regional Conservator, Canterbury, hereby classifies the reserves described in the Schedule hereto, as scenic reserves for the purposes specified in section 19 (1) (a) of the Reserves Act 1977, subject to the provisions of the said Act.

Canterbury Land District—Mackenzie District

Burke Pass Scenic Reserve

12.3656 hectares, being Reserve 4029. All New Zealand Gazette, 1920, page 1728. S.O. 5574.

Ohau Terminal Moraine Scenic Reserve

80.9371 hectares, being Reserve 4023. All New Zealand Gazette, 1920, page 2268. S.O. 5620.

Appointment of the Eastern Region Fish and Game Council to Control and Manage a Wildlife Management Reserve—Thornton Lagoon Wildlife Management Reserve

Pursuant to section 29 of the Reserves Act 1977, and to a delegation from the Minister of Conservation, the Regional Conservator of the Bay of Plenty Conservancy of the Department of Conservation, hereby appoints the Eastern Region Fish and Game Council (ERFGC) to control and manage that part of the Thornton Lagoon Wildlife Management Reserve described in the Schedule hereto, as a Government purpose (wildlife management) reserve, subject to the provisions of the said Act.

The appointment to control and manage the said part of the Thornton Lagoon Wildlife Management Reserve is effective from the 1st day of July 1993 and is subject to review after 25 years.

The ERFGC is required to comply with the following general provisions relating to the administration of the reserve.

(a) Department of Conservation staff to have access to the reserve for management and monitoring purposes.

(b) No live cabbage trees to be cut down or removed from the reserve.

(c) No planting of invasive exotic species to be carried out.

(d) ERFGC to be responsible for fire-fighting and any local authority rates payable in respect of the part of the reserve under ERFGC control.

(e) ERFGC to participate with the Department of Conservation in management planning required for the reserve, by the end of 1995.

(f) ERFGC to share equally with the Department of Conservation the cost of renovation and maintenance of those fences on the boundary dividing the reserve between ERFGC and Department of Conservation administered parts of the reserve.

South Auckland Land District—Whakatane District

Thornton Lagoon Wildlife Management Reserve

48.1300 hectares, more or less, being the south western part of the reserve described as area “A” on S.O. Plan 59845, and being part Allotment 274, Rangitaiki Parish, situated in Block V, Awaateatua Survey District. Part New Zealand Gazette, 1975, page 16 and 1979, page 3308. Recorded on N.Z.M.S. 261 W15, Sheet 1.2.
