Order of the Council in Disciplinary Session

The following orders have been subject to appeal in the High Court and may now be published:

Order in Respect of Registered General and Obstetric Nurse and Registered Midwife—Hillionore Jeanette Yates

On exercise of its powers under section 42 (1) (b), 42 (2) (a), 42 (9), 23 (2), 42 (3) and 48A of the Nurses Act 1977, the Nursing Council of New Zealand on 3–5 March 1988, ordered that the name of Hillionore Jeanette Yates be removed from the register of general and obstetric nurses and the register of midwives. Council declined to fix a time after which she may apply to have her name restored to the register. Council also ordered that she return all certificates issued to her by the Nursing Council, that she pay $500.00 toward the costs and expenses of and incidental to the inquiry by the council (whichever is the lesser) and that a notice stating the effect of the orders be published in the New Zealand Gazette, and the New Zealand Nursing Journal.

Order in Respect of Enrolled Nurse—Susan Cheryl O’Mahony

In exercise of its powers under section 42 (1) (b), 42 (2) (a), 42 (9), 23 (2), 42 (3) and 48A of the Nurses Act 1977, the Nursing Council of New Zealand on 27 February 1990, ordered that the name of Susan Cheryl O’Mahony be removed from the roll of nurses, that a time of 2 years be fixed after which she may apply to have her name restored to the roll, that she return all certificates and badges issued to her by the Nursing Council, that she pay $1,200.00 or 25 percent of costs toward the costs and expenses of and incidental to the inquiry by the council (whichever is the lesser) and that a notice stating the effect of the orders be published in the New Zealand Gazette, and the New Zealand Nursing Journal.

Notice of Result of Poll on Loan Proposal

Pursuant to section 38 of the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956, notice is hereby given that a poll of the electors of the Rototai Road, Park Avenue, Dodson Road, Central Takaka Road, Three Oaks, Burnside Road, Motupipi, Clifton, Selwyn Street, Pohara, Richmond Road, Pohara Valley and Tarakohe as defined as Areas A and B on TDC Map 1058/3 (but excluding Tata Beach and Ligar Bay) taken on the 22nd day of April 1994, on the proposal of the above-named local authority to raise a loan of $1,000,000 to be known as the Takaka-Pohara Sewerage Loan (No 2) 1993, for the purpose of constructing sewerage reticulation resulted as follows:

The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 105.

The number of votes recorded against the proposal was 183.

The number of informal votes was 3.

I therefore declare that the proposal was rejected.
