Pursuant to section 24 (3) (a) of the New Zealand Society of Accountants Act 1958, the Disciplinary Committee ordered that Alex Bob Cijffers be removed from the Register of Members of the Society and fixed the date of 28 February 1997 after which Alex Bob Cijffers may apply for re-registration under this Act. Alex Bob Cijffers was ordered to pay to the society the sum of $1,558.07 (including G.S.T.) in respect of costs and expenses of and incidental to the inquiry by the Disciplinary Committee and the investigation by the Investigation Committee.

The Disciplinary Committee ordered that its decision be published in the Accountant’s Journal, the New Zealand Gazette with mention of the member’s name and locality.

Notice of Decision of Disciplinary Committee

Notice is hereby given by the Disciplinary Committee of the New Zealand Society of Accountants that at a conjoint hearing held on 28 February 1994, the committee heard charges against Phillip Morris Westwood of Hamilton, that:

(a) He had been guilty of grave impropriety.

(b) He had been guilty of an act discreditable to an accountant.

(c) He had conducted himself in such a manner as to render the exercise of the powers of the Disciplinary Committee expedient in the interests of the public and/or the society.

In that he had been convicted in the High Court on a charge of arson.

Phillip Morris Westwood did not appear before the Disciplinary Committee, therefore a plea of not guilty was taken. The Disciplinary Committee found the charges B and C proved, and charge A not proved, based on evidence that was heard and received at the hearing on 28 February 1994.

The Disciplinary Committee ordered that its decision be published in the Accountant’s Journal, the New Zealand Gazette and Waikato Times newspaper with mention of the member’s name and locality.

as a member of the Bay of Plenty Business Development Board for the period commencing on the 21st day of April 1994 and expiring with the close of the 21st day of April 1996.

Education (Early Childhood Centres) Regulations 1990

Cancellation of a Licence for an Early Childhood Centre

Pursuant to regulation 14 of the Education (Early Childhood Centres) Regulations 1990, and acting under authority delegated by the Secretary of Education, I hereby cancel the licence dated the 17th day of August 1992, which was granted under those regulations to Margaret Lillian Bower in respect of Westcliffe Baby Centre, 6 Bridgeview Road, Birkenhead, Auckland.

This notice shall take effect the day after the date of its notification in the New Zealand Gazette.

Private Schools Conditional Integration Act 1975

Rangiora New Life School (Attendance Dues) Notice 1994

Pursuant to section 36 of the Private Schools Conditional Integration Act 1975, the Minister of Education hereby gives notice approving the charging of attendance dues at Rangiora New Life School.

Notice

  1. This notice shall be cited as the Rangiora New Life School (Attendance Dues) Notice 1994.

  2. The proprietor of the above-named school may enter into an agreement with the parents or other persons accepting responsibility for the education of a child at the above-named school requiring them to pay attendance dues.

  3. The attendance dues payable in respect of any pupil shall be $400 (inclusive of G.S.T.) per term per pupil.

  4. Attendance dues received by the proprietor shall be used for the purpose of paying for such improvements to, or for such capital works associated with, buildings and
