Appointment of Disaster Recovery Co-ordinator

I give notice that pursuant to section 69 of the Civil Defence Act 1983, I have appointed

Rex David Smith, Assistant Civil Defence Commissioner of Christchurch

to be Disaster Recovery Co-ordinator in McKenzie District from 5.30 p.m. on Monday, the 21st day of March 1994, for a period of 28 days with the powers conferred by section 72 of the Civil Defence Act 1983.

List of Products Subject to Anti-Dumping Duties

This is to advise that the products currently subject to anti-dumping action are as follows:

  • Hog Bristle Paint Brushes from China.
  • Refined Sugar from Belgium, Denmark, Germany, Malaysia, the Netherlands and Thailand.
  • Plasterboard from Thailand.
  • Lead Acid Batteries from Indonesia, Korea, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore and Taiwan.
  • Certain Non-Leather Women’s Footwear from China.
  • Certain Men’s Footwear from China, Indonesia, Korea, Taiwan and Thailand.
  • PVC Cling Film from Korea and Taiwan.
  • Automotive Oil Filters from the USA.

Defence Act 1990

Appointments, Promotions, Extensions, Transfers, Resignations and Retirements of Officers of the Royal New Zealand Navy

Pursuant to section 32 of the Defence Act 1990, Her Excellency the Governor-General has approved the following appointments, promotions, extensions, transfers, resignations and retirements of officers of the New Zealand Naval Forces.

ROYAL NEW ZEALAND NAVY

The appointments of the following are extended until the date shown:

  • Vice Admiral S. F. Teagle, 24 February 1995.
  • Rear Admiral I. A. Hunter, 7 April 1994.

Commodore J. E. N. Welch, 7 April 1996.
Captain J. G. Peddie to be acting Commodore with effect from 16 December 1993, Commodore with seniority and effect from 14 January 1994, and his appointment is extended until 2 April 1998.

The following are placed on the Retired List of the RNZN with effect from the date shown:

  • Captain Peter James Edward Baldwin, C.D., 21 December 1993.
  • Commander Derrick Anthony Cootes, 23 December 1993.
  • Commander Charles Lorimer Stewart, 27 December 1993.
  • Commander R. H. Keeling to be acting Captain with effect from 14 December 1993.
  • Commander M. J. Wardlaw to be acting Captain with effect from 8 December 1993, Captain with seniority and effect from 10 December 1993, and his appointment is extended until 25 April 2000.
  • Temporary Surgeon Captain J. R. Monigatti, B.SC., M.B., Ch.B., to be Surgeon Captain with seniority and effect from 1 January 1994.

Commander Peter Anthony Cozens is placed on the Emergency List of Officers of the Naval Reserves with effect from 18 December 1993.

The appointment of Chaplain D. A. G. North, B.A., B.D., is extended until 19 September 1996.

The following are placed on the Retired List of the RNZN with effect from the date shown:

  • Commander Nicholas Terence Byrne, M.B.E., 30 December 1993.
  • Lieutenant Commander Brian Alfred Ward, 26 November 1993.
  • Lieutenant Commander David Towndend Watson, 24 December 1993.

The appointment of Lieutenant Commander D. G. Pringle is extended until 30 June 1996.

Lieutenant Commander Lionel Herbert Joseph Rayner is placed on the Retired List of the RNZN with effect from 18 December 1993.

The following Lieutenant Commanders to be Commander with seniority and effect from the date shown:

  • S. J. Taylor, M.B.E., 5 November 1993.
  • B. C. McLennan, 31 December 1993.

Acting Commander David Gary Burnett is placed on the Retired List of the RNZN in the rank of Commander, with effect from 3 December 1993.

Lieutenant Commander D. R. Murray, B.E.(MECH.), to be Commander with seniority and effect from 3 January 1994.

Temporary Commander M. J. Chapman, B.A., LL.B., to be acting Commander with effect from 1 January 1994, and Commander with seniority and effect from 10 January 1994.

Temporary Commander W. E. Goossens, B.SC., DIP.B.S., to be acting Commander with effect from 1 January 1994.

Temporary Commander K. E. Hutton, N.Z.C.E., to be acting Commander with effect from 1 January 1994, and Commander with seniority and effect from 11 January 1994.

The following to be Commander with seniority and effect from the date shown:

  • Acting Commander P. C. Redman, N.Z.C.E., 15 January 1994.
  • Acting Commander G. A. Rees, M.B.E., LL.B., 13 January 1994.
