It shall be an offence for any person to herd or drive black swan(s) for the purpose of hunting or killing them.

It shall be an offence to shoot game from any unmoored boat on the Waikato River north of the boat ramp at the confluence of the Mangawara Stream and the Waikato River at Taupiri on any of the first three days or the second weekend of the open season.

No person shall possess a firearm in or on any unmoored vessel, except a rowboat, unless the firearm is dismantled or secured in a case, gunslip or other secure compartment, except when in use to retrieve wounded game.

(8) WESTERN ARM LAKE WHANGAPE
That area within (lakeward) a boundary created by straight lines between white posts and more specifically;
In straight lines commencing from the white post numbered ‘1’ to be found on the lake edge approximately 350 metres to the west of the Herbert Road road end; south for approximately 600 metres along the shore line to the white post numbered ‘2’; directly (across the bay) west to the spit and the white post numbered ‘3’ located there; south for approximately 500 metres along the shore to the white post numbered ‘4’; inland in a south-easterly direction for approximately 150 metres to the white post numbered ‘5’; inland in a sou-south-westerly direction for approximately 600 metres to the white post numbered ‘6’; towards the lake shore in a northerly direction to the white post numbered ‘7’; directly across the inlet in a north-west direction to the white post numbered ‘8’; northwards along the shore for approximately 1400 metres to the white post numbered ‘9’; across the western arm in a nor-easterly direction to the white post numbered ‘10’; south for approximately 400 metres along the shore to the white post numbered ‘11’; directly across the inlet to the white post numbered ‘1’.

Definition of Areas
The following descriptions refer to Local Authority Boundaries described on Infomap 242B-2 Department of Survey and Land Information for the Eastern Region Fish and Game Council (ERFGC) hunting areas.

Area A1: Tauranga District, Western Bay of Plenty District, that part of the South Waikato District within the ERFGC boundaries and east of State Highway 1, Rotorua District, Kawerau District, Whakatane District, and Opotiki District.

Area A2: Those parts of South Waikato District west of State Highway 1, and Taupo District, and Ruapehu District which lie within the ERFGC Boundaries.

Area B1: Gisborne District

Area B2: That part of Wairoa District within the ERFGC boundaries.
Note: all above areas are shown on the map held by the Eastern Region Fish and Game Council Office, corner Amohia and Haupapa Streets, Rotorua, and Game licence agents, entitled “Eastern Region Fish and Game Council Bird Hunting Areas”.
