Pursuant to regulation 5 of the Fisheries (Satellite Vessel Monitoring) Regulations 1993, and a delegation made, pursuant to section 41 of the State Sector Act 1988, the Assistant Manager (Fisheries Compliance) MAF Fisheries hereby makes the following notice:

1. Title and commencement—(1) This notice may be cited as the Fisheries (Automatic Location Communicator Type Approval) Notice (No. 1) 1994.

(2) This notice shall come into effect on the day after the date of its notification in the New Zealand Gazette.

2. Interpretation—In this notice “type approval” means an approval given by the Director-General of Agriculture and Fisheries under regulation 5 of the Fisheries (Satellite Vessel Monitoring) Regulations 1993.

3. Grant of type approval—Pursuant to regulation 5 (2) of the Fisheries (Satellite Vessel Monitoring) Regulations 1993, a full type approval has been granted to the following Inmarsat-C device:

Pursuant to regulation 5 of the Fisheries (Satellite Vessel Monitoring) Regulations 1993, and a delegation made, pursuant to section 41 of the State Sector Act 1988, the Acting Deputy Group Director MAF Fisheries hereby makes the following notice:

1. Title and commencement—(1) This notice may be cited as the Fisheries (Availability of Type Approval Register) Notice 1994.

(2) This notice shall come into effect on the day after the date of its notification in the New Zealand Gazette.

2. Interpretation—In this notice the following shall apply:

“automatic location communicator” means a device that complies with the appropriate standards and requirements specified by the Director-General under regulation 4 of the Fisheries (Satellite Vessel Monitoring) Regulations 1993.

“type approval” means an approval granted, pursuant to regulation 5 (2) or regulation 5 (3) of the Fisheries (Satellite Vessel Monitoring) Regulations 1993.

3. Availability of Type Approval Register—(1) A register of all type approvals granted for automatic location communicators will be held at MAF Fisheries Head Office, 101–103 The Terrace (P.O. Box 2526), Wellington.

(2) The register of type approvals will be available to be viewed between 9 a.m.–4 p.m., Monday to Friday (excluding public holidays).

(3) A fee for obtaining an extract from the register is contained in the Fisheries (Commercial Fishing) Regulations 1986.
