after the words “other than a hydrofoil ship or surface effect ship of Class II, III and VI”, the words “or a high speed craft of Class II, III, VI, and VIII or high speed craft of Class IX of 500 gross tonnage or more.”

(d) by inserting, in paragraph 1 of the Schedule, after the definition of “Gas Carrier”, the following definition:

“High speed craft” has the meaning defined in the Ship Construction and Safety Equipment (Code of Practice for New High Speed Craft) Notice 1994;

  1. Consequential amendments to the Ship Construction and Safety Equipment (Code of Practice for Hydrofoil Ships and Surface Effect Ships) Notice 1989—The Ship Construction and Safety Equipment (Code of Practice for Hydrofoil Ships and Surface Effect Ships) Notice 1989 is hereby amended by deleting the definition of “New hydrofoil ship or surface effect ship” in clause 3 of the Notice, and substituting the following definition:

“New hydrofoil ship or surface effect ship” means any hydrofoil ship or surface effect ship which comes into operation within New Zealand coastal waters on or after 1 November 1989 but before the date of commencement of the Ship Construction and Safety Equipment (Code of Practice for New High Speed Craft) Notice 1994;

The Board of the Education and Training Support Agency, pursuant to section 5 of the Industry Training Act 1992, hereby gives notice that on Monday, the 12th day of December 1994, the Boating and Marine Industry Association Training Organisation Incorporated, was afforded recognition as the Industry Training Organisation for the Design, Building and Manufacturing of yachts and boats from small dinghies to ocean going motor and sail yachts up to an overall length of 120 metres (400 FT), and marine orientated supporting activities such as the buying and selling of craft, maintenance and servicing of these vessels (Excluding Power Boat Servicing) to Level 8 on the Qualifications Framework.
