Civil Defence Act 1983

Declaration of State of Local Civil Defence Emergency

Pursuant to section 52 of the Civil Defence Act 1983, I, Charles Ernest Poynter, hereby declare a state of local civil defence emergency to be in force in the Wanganui Civil Defence District for potential flooding.

The state of local civil defence emergency shall come into force on the time and date of the making of this declaration.

Designation: Mayor, Wanganui District Council.

Time and Date of Declaration: 6 p.m., 8 November 1994.

Declaration Terminating State of Local Civil Defence Emergency

Pursuant to section 56 of the Civil Defence Act 1983, I, David Costello Valiely, hereby terminate the state of local civil defence emergency declared in respect of the Wanganui Civil Defence District.

The termination of the state of local civil defence emergency shall take effect from the time and date of the making of this declaration.

Gaming and Lotteries Act 1977

Permission to Conduct Within New Zealand a Lottery Promoted Outside New Zealand

Pursuant to section 69 of the Gaming and Lotteries Act 1977, I, Warren Cooper, the Minister of Internal Affairs, hereby permit Credit Card Sentinel Pty Limited, Australia, to conduct within New Zealand, subject to the conditions specified in the Schedule to this notice, a lottery promoted outside New Zealand as a sales promotion scheme for that company’s credit card registration scheme.

Conditions

The permission given by this notice is subject to the following conditions, namely:

(1) The lottery shall not be conducted within New Zealand after 16 December 1994.

(2) The results of the lottery shall be published in the New Zealand Sunday Star on 25 December 1994.

(3) New Zealand winners shall not be subject to any disadvantage as a result of winning a prize.

(4) A New Zealand participant shall have a chance of winning which is equivalent to that of an overseas participant.
