Summary of Bills Presented
This section contains a prΓ©cis of all bills presented to the House this week. Not all bills presented are introduced. The introduction of a bill requires the agreement of the House.
Meat (Inspection Seasons)
Validates retrospectively the date of the 1993/94 meat inspection season and sets the date for the 1994/95 season. The recovery of meat inspection fees by the Director-General of the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries from meat, game, cold store and fish processing industries is provided for under the Meat Act 1981. Under the Act the contract must be notified in the Gazette. Legal opinion indicates that the notification process for the 1993/94 and 1994/95 seasons could be subject to legal challenge. This would affect the recovery of meat inspection costs and debts incurred by companies in the meat, game and fish processing industries. (Hon John Falloon/Referred to Primary Production Committee)
Manukau City Council (Pine Harbour Marina Seabed Licence Validation)
Validates a seabed licence granted by the Manukau City Council: and validates sublicences granted by Pine Harbour Marina Limited under that seabed licence. (Trevor Rogers/Referred to Internal Affairs and Local Government Committee)
