Sale of Wanganui Harbour Land

Pursuant to Part IV of the Harbours Act 1950, and to a delegation from the Secretary of Transport, the Manager Legislation and Maritime Policy, having obtained, pursuant to section 143A (3) of the Act, the concurrence of the Secretary to the Treasury under delegation from the Minister of Finance, hereby approves, pursuant to sections 143A (1) (a) and 143A (1) (b) (i) of the Act, the sale of land referred to in the Schedule below by The Wanganui District Council and specifies that this approval is effective from the date of this notice.

Schedule

All that parcel of land containing 1650 square metres, more or less, situate in the City of Wanganui, being Lot 9 on Deposited Plan 49262 and being all the land comprised and described in certificate of title, Volume 19B, folio 1360 (Wellington Registry).

Public Works Act 1981

Notice of Intention to Take Land at Maxwell for Road

Notice is hereby given that The Wanganui District Council, under the provisions of the Public Works Act 1981, intends to take the land described in the Schedule hereto for road, to legalise the use of the land as road.

The taking is considered reasonably necessary for the legalisation of the existing use as road.

A copy of the plan may be inspected at The Wanganui District Council, corner of St. Hill Street and Guyton Street, Wanganui, during normal office hours.

The land to be taken is the unformed western extension of Newton Road, Maxwell.

Any person having an estate or interest in the land may within 20 working days after the date of this notice, send an objection to the Registrar, Planning Tribunal, Tribunals Division, Justice Department, Private Bag, Wellington. If any objection is made in accordance with this notice, a public hearing will be held, unless the objector otherwise requires, and each objector will be informed of the time and place of the hearing.
