to be a Queen’s Counsel.

Education (Early Childhood Centres) Regulations 1990

Cancellation of a Licence for an Early Childhood Centre

Pursuant to regulation 14 (1) (c) (iii) of the Education (Early Childhood Centres) Regulations 1990, and acting under authority delegated by the Secretary of Education, I hereby cancel the licence dated the 10th day of March 1993, which was granted under those regulations to Horowai Broedelow in respect of Te Hurinui o te Whaia Te Matauranga Te Kohanga Reo, 134 Tennesse Avenue, Mangere East, Auckland.

This notice shall take effect the day after the date of its notification in the New Zealand Gazette.

Private Schools Conditional Integration Act 1975

Supplementary Integration Agreement

Pursuant to section 10 of the Private Schools Conditional Integration Act 1975, notice is given that a supplementary integration agreement has been signed between the Minister of Education on behalf of Her Majesty the Queen, acting through the Senior Manager, National Operations, Ministry of Education, pursuant to delegated authority, and the proprietor of the following school:

Sacred Heart School, Reefton.

The said supplementary integration agreement was executed on the 8th day of August 1994. A copy of the supplementary agreement is available for inspection without charge by any member of the public at the district office of the Ministry of Education.

British Settlements Act 1887

Appointment of Officer of Government of Ross Dependency

CATHERINE A. TIZARD, Governor-General

Whereas, by an Order in Council dated the 30th day of July 1923*, made under the British Settlements Act 1887 of the United Kingdom Parliament, the Governor-General and Commander-in-Chief of New Zealand for the time being (hereinafter called the Governor) was appointed to be the Governor of the Ross Dependency, and all the powers and authorities which by the said order were given and granted to the Governor for the time being of the Dependency were thereby vested in the Governor:

And whereas the Governor was thereby further authorised and empowered to make all such rules and regulations as might lawfully be made by Her Majesty’s authority for the peace, order, and good government of the Dependency:

And whereas, by regulations made by the Governor on the 14th day of November 1923†, it was enacted that all persons appointed by the Governor for the time being of the Dependency should have such power and authority as might be granted them in due course of law, and might be empowered to do such things as might be necessary or desirable to ensure that the laws in force in the Dependency are duly observed and complied with in every respect, and to do all things necessary or expedient for the peace, order, and good government of the Dependency, and to safeguard and preserve Her Majesty’s rights and sovereignty over and in respect of the Dependency:

And whereas it is expedient that the person hereinafter named be appointed an officer of the Government of the Dependency:

Now, therefore, I, Dame Catherine Anne Tizard, the Governor-General of New Zealand, and as such the Governor of the Ross Dependency, hereby appoint

Warren George Herrick

to be an officer of the Government of the Dependency during the period beginning with the 1st day of October 1994 and ending with the close of the 15th day of October 1995 or such earlier date as he shall leave the Dependency:

And I hereby confer on the said Warren George Herrick while he holds office all the powers and authorities that may be exercised in New Zealand by a Justice of the Peace, and also the powers and authorities that may be so exercised by a Coroner:

The said Warren George Herrick to exercise his functions at such places within the Dependency as may be directed by the officer for the time being appointed as an officer of the Government of the Dependency in whom is vested the general executive and administrative authority in preserving Her Majesty’s rights and sovereignty and the laws and regulations in force in the Dependency.

As witness the hand of Her Excellency the Governor-General as the Governor of the Ross Dependency, this 26th day of September 1994.
