Notice to Abolish Special Quarantine Grounds at Kerikdowns, Feilding and Halcombe (Notice No. 5246; Ag. 6/4/3/0/1; QUAL/0966/N-SAN)

Pursuant to section 11A (2) of the Animals Act 1967, the Director-General of Agriculture and Fisheries, hereby gives the following notice:

N o t i c e

  1. Special quarantine grounds abolished—The pieces of land as specified in the attached Schedule, are hereby abolished as special quarantine grounds for the detention of imported animals or one or more kinds of imported animals.

  2. Revocations—The following notices are revoked:

    (a) Notice to Set Apart and Define a Special Quarantine Ground at Kerikdowns (Notice No. 4117) published in the New Zealand Gazette on 23 July 1987, Issue No. 118 at page 3441.

    (b) Notice Extending an Already Established Special Quarantine Ground at Kerikdowns, North Auckland (Notice No. 4977) published in the New Zealand Gazette on 23 March 1990, Issue No. 43 at page 951.

    (c) Notice to Set Apart and Define a Special Quarantine Ground at Feilding (Notice No. 4418) published in the New Zealand Gazette on 9 June 1988, Issue No. 98 at page 2316.

    (d) Notice to Set Apart and Define a Special Quarantine Ground at Halcombe (Notice No. 5136) published in the New Zealand Gazette on 5 March 1992, Issue No. 30 at page 670.

Schedule

(i) Land at Kerikdowns

Land and premises owned by Landcorp, comprising 113.76 hectares, more or less, situated at Kerikdowns, being part Sections 8 and 9, Block 7, Kerikeri, part Section 10, Block 7, Kerikeri (North Auckland Registry).

(ii) Land at Feilding

Land and premises comprising 51.0495 hectares, more or less, situated in Block XIV of the Oroua Survey District, being part Section 130, Town of Sandon and being the residue of the land in certificate of title, Volume B4, folio 36 (Wellington Registry).

(iii) Land at Halcombe

Land and premises occupied by Mr R. A. Moodie, being Lot 1, comprising 45.4080 hectares, more or less, situated in Blocks IX and XIII, Oroua Survey District, being a subdivision of part Section 119, Town of Sandon (S.O. 10992(4)) and being part of certificate of title, Volume 6B, folio 1365 (PT), Wellington Registry.

Pursuant to section 19A of the Animals Protection Act 1960 and on the advice of the National Animal Ethics Advisory Committee I hereby approve the code of ethical conduct submitted to me from the New Zealand Communicable Disease Centre.

Notice number 4225 of the New Zealand Gazette on the 8th day of October 1987 at page 4636 is hereby revoked.

Pursuant to section 19A of the Animals Protection Act 1960 and on the advice of the National Animal Ethics Advisory Committee, I hereby revoke the approval of the code of ethical conduct of Central Institute of Technology.

Notice number 4216 of the New Zealand Gazette on the 1st day of October 1987 at page 4569 is hereby revoked.

Pursuant to section 23 (3) of the Burial and Cremation Act 1964, I, Dame Catherine Anne Tizard, G.C.M.G., D.B.E., the Governor-General of New Zealand, hereby appoint The Gisborne District Council to have the control and management of the Motu Cemetery, being the land described in the Schedule hereto, as from the 1st day of July 1993.
